Need EG to detect text string in a text file

Is there a way to trigger an action based on the appearance of a specific string of text in a text file. For example, I have another macro that will copy a string of text and paste into that text file. I need EG to be able to detect a specific string of text and perform an action if it is the correct text. Can this be done?

... and then set a trigger to run it: desired time interval, detected file change (Directory Watcher plugin), etc
