Nuvoton (Intel CIR) in EventGhost

Post by Tim. »

I recently purchased an Intel DH67BL (Media Series) motherboard which has onboard CIR headers. Using the special IR receiver connected to the header, I enabled CIR in the BIOS. After booting into Windows 7 32bit I installed the Nuvoton drivers from Intel's website. Now my MCE remote functions normally, and I can turn my PC on from being turned OFF (S5).

At this point I install EventGhost (used for a long time on other builds) and turn on the MCE plugin. No events show in the log. I tried the second MCE plugin, but it does not work either. I read around and found the following thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2060. Based on this, the ID for my onboard CIR is not included in the MCE plugins currently available. I am able to get commands into EvenGhost using the 'Generic HID' and 'Keyboard' plugins, however that is not an ideal solution (causing my keyboard to not function properly).

Is there a way to use my Nuvoton onboard CIR device with MCE plugins? What information is needed from me to add the ID? This is a pretty common feature on current and former Intel Media Series and Extreme Series motherboards. Would be great if EventGhost supported it!

I'm in the same boat...

I have an ASROCK Z68M-ITX_HT motherboard with the Nuvoton CIR hardware. I'm using this for a HTPC & one of the reasons I picked this board was it included a IR receiver & MCE remote. Both work great & the remote can actually turn the computer on ÔÇô nice.

Anyway, the Nuvoton W836x7HG CIR Device driver just does not want to play with EG. After digging around it looks like both MceRemote & MceRemote_Vista hard code the standard GUID outside of the Python environment making this driver inaccessible. Using W7 it looks like the AlternateMceIrService would require updating.

It would be nice if someone with a CPP environment could update MceIr.dll & AlternateMceIrService to include this option.

In the meantime I've decided to disable this hardware & go with the standard.

I got ASRock Z77E-ITX motherboard with CIR installed. Looks like nothing changed since the time of the original post and this device doesn't work. I have external Sony IR Receiver and Philips remote - they both work just fine. But when I install CIR, there're no signals in EG at all.

Will you fix this in the future or maybe there's another solution for that? Would love to use internal CIR instead or external.

I have an Asrock Z77 Extreme6 board with CIR-Header and inteset ir receiver which works as ehome receiver. Drivers are from Nuvoton. Like in the above posts I desperately need eventghost to register events from this combo. I would even donate some cash to get this working!

I am in the same boat too. I have a DH77DF motherboard and an Inteset CIR receiver (connected to Nuvoton chip via CIR header). Right now, the CIR receiver can only be used to turn on the pc from S5. I really hope Eventghost can support it. Thanks in advance.
