MultiTap - Entering a string of numbers?

Post by Jasoncal »

Hi,
I am making a custom remote that is hosted through EventGhost's Web Server Plugin. The remote will be performing functions such as control Powerpoint through Python Scripts relating to buttons. Included on the interface for the web page is a number pad.

One function I would like to include is using the Number Pad to advance to specific slides in powerpoint. I have already figured out the coding in python for powerpoint slide advancing, and how to map 1-9 keys on my web remote. I am trying figure out how I can go 10 and higher.

I was reading about Multitap and have been trying to play around with it. Could I use Multitap to register multiple taps and translate that into a variable in a python scripts?

Thank you for your help!

I'm sure it's possible. Use Numpad mode.

Ok let me explain what I am trying to do

I have a web-interface which has a number pad (0-9). The function I am trying to accomplish is use this keypad to go to a specific slide in powerpoint. I have already figured out the coding in a python script to control powerpoint. Only thing is I want to go beyond '9' and do multi digit numbers. I want to use multiple taps on a button to register as '11' instead of '1' pressed twice. Then I need to figure out how to define this number as a variable so I can refer to it in my python script.

I am still stumped on how do this. I don't understand even after looking at the Wiki and forum posts how to get double digit numbers from multiple taps. Then also I don't understand how to grab that number so I can make it a variable in my script.

Hope this clarifies my inquiry.

Thank you,
Jason

Ok I was able to figure it out using the eg.event.payload variable to refer to.
