IR codes compatibility : Using MCE USB as Blaster

Post by sierramike »

Hi,

I'm new to Eventghost and I'm trying to blast some IR commands to control my Home Theater equipments.

I have the MCE IR module with MCE Remote. It doesn't show any other brand than "Microsoft" (no HP, Dell or other). I connected an IR Blaster to the "1" output jack at the back.

I installed EventGhost and added the MCE plugin for Vista/Win7.

I added a macro and clicked "Learn" to learn IR codes from my original remotes. I managed to learn codes (codes showed up in the textbox), but only codes for my "Yamaha" A/V Reveiver/amplifier worked. Codes for my DVD player "Pioneer" and for my new "Sony HX92 series" TV still show up in the textbox after learning, but when blasting they didn't do anything on the devices.

Do anyone know about limitations using MCE unit as a blaster ? Did I miss something ?
