Noob needs help mapping Logitech Revue keyboard to MCE

hi there -

i recently bought a logitech revue keyboard to use with my htpc running windows media center. although it was originally designed to be used with logitech's google tv product, in the amazon reviews, one of the customers said they used eventghost to get all of the "google tv" keys to map to windows media center. so i've now spent a few hours reading about how to use eventghost, have watched a few youtube videos, and tried my hand at it. alas, no success. i'm probably overlooking something pretty simple and would appreciate some help. here's what i've done and what's happening (running windows 7 x64, by the way, and the revue keyboard is wireless and connects to the pc via a logitech unifying usb receiver):

1. i tried adding the "keyboard" plugin in EG and figured i'd press a key on the revue keyboard, see it in the log, and drag it to a macro with the key sequence i want that to trigger. for most of the typical keys (e.g., "A" - "Z", Enter, Spacebar) those key presses did indeed show up in the log. but the main problem i'm having is that many of the key presses on the keyboard don't appear in the log. for example, there's a key with a house icon on it. when i press it, nothing appears in the event log (though strangely, it causes my browser to be launched). similarly, when i press the "Fn" key (alone or with another key), nothing shows up in the log. so i'm not seeing how i can map those key presses to a certain macro key sequence. for example, i'd like to map the key with the house icon to WINDOW-ALT-ENTER, which is the media center keyboard shortcut for going to the media center start screen.

2. i thought that maybe instead of the keyboard plugin, i should try the Generic HID plugin. so i removed the keyboard plugin and added the Generic HID one. that brought up a settings screen that required me to choose a device. i tried each of the (many) devices in that list, one after the other, but then i got no key presses at all showing up in the log window. instead, the log window said something like "HID stopped." by the way, it was suggested to me that i should select the "Logitech Keyboard" device in the HID plugin list, but i don't show that as a choice. the only things identified with Logitech are a set of four "USB receiver" entries, and i tried each of those. any ideas as to why "Logitech keyboard" might not be showing up in that list?

i'd really appreciate some help in how to fix this. it must be doable since a couple of the amazon reviewers mentioned using EG...i'm just not quite getting it.

p.s. don't know if it matters, but i also have a standard wired keyboard and mouse attached to the pc and that's what i've been using to configure the computer, install eventghost, etc. i'm assuming that shouldn't create some kind of conflict, but who knows...
