Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)

There's something else... and i'm not quite sure if it has to do with the recent Change/fix:

When i stop (and maybe start) XBMC... i get tons auf Messages about XBMC2.player.stop or XBMC2.onquit (or similar). Causing a very high CPU load for quite a few seconds.

Hmm, I seem to remember something about an infinite loop problem, that might be related to why I disabled the events when there was a problem. So my fast fix might not be the solution.

I'll try to move to using Frodo as my main XBMC version, that might help me discover more problems.

Hi All,

With xbmc eden the eventghost event receiver plugin worked a treat, i have noticed with frodo that it does not any more, i have tried using the xbmc2 plugin to receive events from xbmc but in order for it to receive events from my xbmc machine eventghost needs to be loaded after my xbmc machine is awake.

I have eventghost running on a seperate pc that is on 24x7, this pc also controls my home lighting so i need eventghost to listen for xbmc's play and stop events in order to activate or deactivate the lights in the theater room.

It worked well with eden using the event receiver plugin, just want to know if anybody has a potential solution or possibly a way for the xbmc2 plugin to recognize when the xbmc pc is awake and make the connection.

I've got everything working okay except the pause.

I'm running Frodo Beta 1. Pause doesn't seem to work for both Videos and Music.

Any ideas?

I did a quick test and pause seems to work correctly. Post your EventGhost config file, as I'm suspecting you have double assigned a play/pause action.

At the moment I only know of one method and that is to basically try to connect to XBMC until it responds and then receive events.
I've been meaning to ask in the XBMC forums whats the proper way to detect when XBMC is running and then connect to receive events.

Install the Event Broadcast plugin on that XBMC Machine, use the "Resume from Standby" (or similar ) Action and use it to send an event to your 24/7 Machine. Then maybe wait a few seconds... and then tell the XBMC2 Plugin to start connecting to xbmc.

hey guys,

first thank you very much for this plugin and the huge amount of work you put into it.
Please forgive me if this has been asked a 1000 times but I've been trying for an hour now searching here in the thread and checking out whatever I could find. Could you please help me with the basic setup?
I am quite new to xbmc and try to get it running with eg. I installed the nightly from yesterday XBMCSetup-20121127 and I try to get notifications into eg. Sending commands to xbmc worked from the start...
Right now I am using the test version of xbmc2 from this post: Link

So this is how I set it up:

Here I tried any combination of ticking/unticking the options at the bottom to no avail
(in one post I read that broadcast is outdated and json is the way to go now, is ticking "Enable Broadcast events." meaning broadcast in general or is it just referring to the outdated (?) method over 8278?)

I opened port 9090 tcp in and out.

This is what I will get after starting up eg and doing the connect:

Whatever I do in xbmc I will not get any events show in eg logs...
I would appreciate your help very much!

This is crazy I've just spent quite some time to write all the stuff above just to figure out that I will get events on starting some media.... I was looking for window changes all the time. Is this not supported or do I have to setup something else for this?
I remember in older xbmc receiver plugin I had to call some url to set the level of events...

As far as I know there are no events for window changes and I have not seen any plans to add them.

I remember in older xbmc receiver plugin I had to call some url to set the level of events...

JSONRPC.SetConfiguration seems to be the closest for JSON but I believe all events are sent by default. This seems to be all currently supported events.

Thanks, there are some new event types that I haven't properly looked into so it's unrecognized but seems to generate the correct event.

Oh no, this is not so good for me. I wanted to control my home server dependent on where I am in xbmc. I've set this up for mediaportal and it is working quite well.

I was wondering if you can play XBMC "Smart Playlist" with one button/click? let say i have AmericanDad.xsp, how can i Play this playlist with a trigger from eventghost.
Apologies if this question is silly or have been answered before but i cant seem to figure it out.
