Delays responding to IR keypress

Post by scottbussinger »

I've installed the lastest EventGhost (0.4.1) on my WIndows Media Center. It's working great except for an intermittent problem. There's only one entry in my configuration. It detects a particular button event from the MCE InfraRed receiver and in response it blasts a particular code out through the same MCE IR receiver's output jacks. I'm essentially recognizing the power button on the (non-programmable) MCE remote and using it to control my TV's power.

As I said, the basic configuration works great. I'll hit the button on the remote (and I can see the receiver get it via an LED on the device). Normally I can then see the LED blasting the signal out to the TV almost immediately. The problem is that sometimes (perhaps 25% of the time) the blast response happens MUCH later (like 30+ seconds later). If I get impatient thinking the button pressed had been missed and press it again, then I'll end up getting two blasts (turning the TV on and then immediately off again).

I haven't found any particular pattern yet as to when it's slow. Any ideas why there would be such a long latency in some cases?
