Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
Hello.
Thanks for a great work with the plugin.
What iam looking for is a way for eventghost to get a signal when openelec (xbmc 12rc1) play / pause / stop
I tryed your plugin and i could send signals to xbmc from the plugin but it does not seems that i could receive any information from xbmc.
and jsonrpc gives me only connection error but for example sendNotification works.
So what do i have to configure to make the plugin listen to what xbmc does?
Thanks for a great work with the plugin.

You need to use one of the newer test versions I have posted to get the JSON actions to work with the latest versions of XBMC.What iam looking for is a way for eventghost to get a signal when openelec (xbmc 12rc1) play / pause / stop

You need to use this last plugin test version. And look here and here for instructions to activate the events. The events support is experimental at the moment as I haven't finished it yet, so there are bugs and I might change how it works in later versions. So what do i have to configure to make the plugin listen to what xbmc does?
I'm trying to release a more finished version of the XBMC2 plugin before XBMC 12 is officially relesed, but I have a feeling I wont make it as RC2 is already out.

Hello.
Thanks for the reply.
Its working now iam receiving play, pause and stop thats great.
But i cant get the jsonrpc to work, and by the way the port i enter in the setup my quess is that it should be the port to webinterface?
I have password in xbmc but i dont se any field to enter username and password, but maybe its not necessary?
this is what i get when i run update on the jsonrpc

Looks like something changed in the later XBMC beta/RC, I'll check. Thanks for reporting. But i cant get the jsonrpc to work,
Yes the first port setting is for HTTPAPI(not availibile in Frodo) and the webinterface.and by the way the port i enter in the setup my quess is that it should be the port to webinterface?
Yeah, I have not implemented the password stuff yet, I don't use it and it has gotten a low priority. Will look into it later. Another user posted a way to edit the plugin and hard code the password and login here.I have password in xbmc but i dont se any field to enter username and password, but maybe its not necessary?
The HTTPAPI is not available anymore in XBMC 12httpapi gives me this error

I think it's been broken a long time, and I'm probably doing to remove it.Get currently playing filename gives me this
XBMC2: GetCurrentlyPlayingFilename
JSON-RPC connection error: http://192.0.0.41:8088
{"jsonrpc": "2.0", "id": 1, "method": "Player.GetActivePlayers"}

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
Of course, i checked all options. But, thanks anyway. I'll try with fresh installs of XMBC, plugin and EventGhost. Hmmm. Maybe installation of MediaPortal is somehow interferring...jonib wrote:Hmm, I moved my XBMC settings dir, so XBMC created a new config and I didn't have to do anything in XBMC for it to work. So only thing needed should be to have the correct IP in XBMC2, and if you run both XBMC and EventGhost on the same computer the default IP should work.RBS_Vader wrote:I checked everything. But no luck at all. Will wait till next XBMC2 release.![]()
Only things I can think of:
Did you check this (Settings\Services\Remote control) needs "Allow programs on this system to control XBMC" to be checked, you didn't mention it.
Try putting your actual IP in the XBMC2 config.
Other then that maybe something is conflicting with the port 9777 that XBMC2 is using to send the commands (The port setting in XBMC2s config is for HTTPAPI only)
I don't think the next release is going to help, as I'm not planning any changes in how the actions are sent to XBMC, as they seem to work correctly. But I'll see if I can improve detecting connection problems.

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
With the old EventServer you could choose to turn on broadcasting at high level (including button presses etc).
Is that possible now?
I had a timer triggered on left, right, up, down etc so that a macro could shut down some AV equipment when inactive for a couple of minutes

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
I haven't seen any button press related events with the new JSON based notifications. Look here for what I assume is the current list of supported events.rickardk wrote:With the old EventServer you could choose to turn on broadcasting at high level (including button presses etc).

Maybe there is some other event that could work.I had a timer triggered on left, right, up, down etc so that a macro could shut down some AV equipment when inactive for a couple of minutes

With xbmc2 plugin, is there a command to switch xbmc to 2nd
Is there any command in xbmc2 plugin to switch xbmc from primary display to secondary display?
Re: With xbmc2 plugin, is there a command to switch xbmc to
Sorry, I don't think there is a way to switch display externally, only within XBMC. You should ask in the XBMC forum for a way and I would happily add it to the XBMC2 plugin.jang430 wrote:Is there any command in xbmc2 plugin to switch xbmc from primary display to secondary display?
The closest I found to change it externally was this, but then you would need to restart XBMC after.

hi jonib,
posted in the xbmc forum but moved it here for you
having to push the xbox360 remote buttons 2 times to get xbmc2 to send the event to xbmc.
i am using usbuirt plugin to capture the ir from the remote. in the log here you can see one press is captured but not sent- second press is sending the mapped command to xbmc. any ideas on why this is happening?

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
Hi,
I have a very strange problem. Maybe someone can help. I use this great plugin with Windows 7 for over one year. It's working great. Thank you for this.
I upgraded to Windows 8 and wanted to test if everythings working but now the emulated keys do not work. I use this just for 3 actions because I can map one key to several actions (depending on the windows/Status of xbmc). The key emulation is working in every other software except in XBMC. I have absolutly no idea why because the keyboard/mouse works.
The event is logged properly but there's just no reaction.
Regards,
S

I can't help with Win8, hopefully someone else can but..I upgraded to Windows 8 and wanted to test if everythings working but now the emulated keys do not work.
If you tell me what 3 actions and how you want to use them, I'm sure there are another way to do them without emulating keystrokes or I can add it to the plugin.I use this just for 3 actions because I can map one key to several actions (depending on the windows/Status of xbmc).

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
Hi Jonib,
thank you very much for your support. Not so many people using WIN8 for HTPC yet. We will see how long it takes
Win 7 is a good OS I think, regaridnig to Performance and reliability Win8 does a good
To my specific actions:
Well, this is not really a specific one. I just use different actions with one key. Let give you two examples:
- I have a key exit on my remote. During media playback it just stops the video. Only in HomeScreen XBMC closes. With the help of the keymap.xml I could easily do that.
- I have an Info key on my remote. During media Playback the menu appears, on the home Screen the System Info appears, using it on a selected media, file the info for this appears.
Hopefully my English was good enough to explain this
Thank you and Regards,
