Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
Looking at the problem farther, it's clearly registering a double press. EventGhost is only sending 1 keypress, but XBMC is getting two. In the XBMC log, when I do only a single key press, I'm seeing this:
15:25:54 T:7232 DEBUG: WinEventsWin32.cpp: APPCOMMAND 14
15:25:54 T:7232 DEBUG: CApplication::OnAppCommand: appcommand 14, trying action Play
and a few lines later:
15:25:54 T:7232 DEBUG: CApplication::OnKey: 0 (f200) pressed, action is
15:25:54 T:7232 DEBUG: CApplication::OnKey: 234 (ea) pressed, action is Play
15:25:54 T:7232 DEBUG: CAnnouncementManager - Announcement: OnPause from xbmc
My Chinavasion remote (via Logitech Harmony 880) is setup as an HID generic in EventGhost as that was the only one that seemed to work. I added a single macro (XBMC2/Buttons/Remote/Play) and that's the output I'm getting.

Your IR receiver driver is probably sending the second press and it needs to be disabled (Don't know how) if you want to use EventGhost properly.tr0nllam wrote:Looking at the problem farther, it's clearly registering a double press. I'm having a small issue with XBMC2 on the latest Frodo v12... the GUIDE button seems to now link to some sort of PVR function.
Is there a way to edit it such that Guide still performs the same function?

Yes they changed some stuff in Frodo. For me it was the select button don't change the aspect ratio anymore.THRobinson wrote:I'm having a small issue with XBMC2 on the latest Frodo v12... the GUIDE button seems to now link to some sort of PVR function.
You can't fix it in the XBMC2 plugin but you can put in a custom remote.xml in XBMC, unfortunetly I don't know what actions you had on the guide button as I don't seem to have it in my remote.xml from XBMC 11.Is there a way to edit it such that Guide still performs the same function?
The master remote.xml in XBMC is in (XBMC install directory)\system\keymaps\remote.xml, you should put the attached remote.xml in (XBMC profile directory)\userdata\keymaps. I put in only the guide action configs but you need to edit it to use the actions you want, if you have the remote.xml from the XBMC where it worked like you want, you can copy the actions from it.
Hopefully you can follow these ramblings

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
Looking in my remote.xml file, it seems what you attached pretty much matches what I have...
<guide>XBMC.ActivateWindowAndFocus(MyPVR, 31,0, 10,0)</guide>
and
<guide>XBMC.ActivateWindow(PVROSDGuide)</guide>
and
<guide>XBMC.ActivateWindow(PVROSDGuide)</guide>
etc...
So, I guess just editing anything between <guide> ... </guide> would work? specifically what's between the brackets?
I've never had to edit this stuff before, I used EventGhost because I could click a remote button, then drag/drop the event from the log/left to the right. Pretty easy stuff.

Yes, the <guide> is the remote button and whatever is between is the action you want to happen when you press it.THRobinson wrote:So, I guess just editing anything between <guide> ... </guide> would work? specifically what's between the brackets?
If you don't need different action depending on where in XBMC you are you could assign it directly to an action in EventGhost. What action did you have on the button before Frodo?I've never had to edit this stuff before, I used EventGhost because I could click a remote button, then drag/drop the event from the log/left to the right. Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
Well, when I hit GUIDE on my remote while I had a file or menu item highlighted in XBMC, it brought up the menu (same as right clicking the item with the mouse)... basically depending what was clicked, you get the menu for queue item, play, add to favourites, etc...
On the XBMC forum they said that the keyboard command was now CTRL+G which doesn't seem to be the case, it brings up the PVR error again about having no clients or something.
I tried changing all instances of <guide> to <guide>rightclick</guide> but sadly didn't work.
In EG, it was setup as Guide/MceRemote.Mce.Guide/XBMC2:Guide

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
Hey, that's what happens when I press the guide button on my remote. Just assign your remote guide button to XBMC2\Buttons\Remote\Title in EventGhost and it should work the way you want and you don't need the new remote.xml.THRobinson wrote:Well, when I hit GUIDE on my remote while I had a file or menu item highlighted in XBMC, it brought up the menu (same as right clicking the item with the mouse)... basically depending what was clicked, you get the menu for queue item, play, add to favourites, etc...

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
Awesome!!!
Totally works again... most of the menu I don't use, however, I use it a lot for updating folders/libraries.
Hopefully it's the only issue I'll come across with this update... had a few last time and basically just re-scraped the entire db, so far this time it seems to be the 1 button.

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
it's amazing how much time can be spent on such a small simple thing... also makes you wonder why they change stuff like that in the first place.
Ah well... thanks for the info... I reposted it to the XBMC thread since a couple of other people were asking the same thing.

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
Howdy.
I run xbmc on my main PC and also on a RaspPi with openelec. Both have X10 Firefly remotes.
When I use the main PC and remote the Firefly also sends remote signals to the PI.
I don't want that.
Is there some sort of command or event that I can input into main PC's EG via XBMC2 plugin that will send to the RaspPi's XBMC some sort of thing to ignore all x10 remote events?
Thanks much.

I haven't seen anything like that. I believe you need to disable whatever is sending the commands to XBMC in openelec.zian wrote:Is there some sort of command or event that I can input into main PC's EG via XBMC2 plugin that will send to the RaspPi's XBMC some sort of thing to ignore all x10 remote events?
Hopefully someone else has a solution for you.

Re: Support for XBMC2 plugin (formerly XBMCRepeat)
Just upgraded to XBMC 12 and had to replace eventreceiver with the XBMC2 plugin.
It works very well, thanks for updating this plugin!
I have two issues which I can't figure out.
EDIT: When I open the XBMC2:JSONRPC macro I can't select any "Namespace"and "Method" and the update button does not work: Does work now, the http port was not configured correctly. Still get the "Error opening: jsonrpc.dat" message?
An other issue is when I use an external player I recieve an error. I think this is an XBMC issue?

I'm getting the problem too, I'll try to look into it today.I have two issues which I can't figure out.

Edit: I wasn't getting the same problem, my development version has a problem with a missing jsonrpc.dat, that I haven't finished yet.
Do you get the event? then it's just a warning that the new event format is unsupported and might not work. I haven't seen an event that didn't work yet.An other issue is when I use an external player I recieve an error. I think this is an XBMC issue?
