terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost

Since the last update, terRemote now supports direct communication with XBMC. So now you can control all your HTPCs, even the Linux based.
I tested this on my Raspberry Pi, it should also work with all other XBMC distributions. Let me know if you have problems.

I think I found a small bug. When adding an action to say, a pushbutton - if the event that you type in wraps to the next line, it's putting an extra space in the event where the line wrap goes. If you go in, it can be deleted manually as a workaround, but this space gets added it seems, each time the line wraps.

Hi,

I'm not sure if I got that right. Do you refer to the action sending to EventGhost or does this happen in general for all actions? Where do you see the extra space? I tried creating such an action with a long event string and neither in the overview (In the "Actions on click" list) nor in the received event in EG was there an extra space.







Is that what you meant? If yes, which version do you use?

This might be an ID10T error. I actually only noticed it when I had periods in the event, and so what must have been happening was that my mobile keyboard was entering the space after the period for me, and I didn't realize it.

Sorry for the false alarm. I'm not positive that's what was happening, but it seems to be the case.

Love the app, would love to share my tablet layout but the upload process fails when it tries to take a snap-shot. I'm using a 10'' Pendo tablet. Is there another way to upload?

First of all thank you for you wonderful application , i just discovered it and I amazed with it.

I have a little problem , I'm tryiing to update a bar status with the system volume (like your exemple here) http://www.terremote.com/tutorials/exam ... nformation

But when I try to make it work , it don't work and If i check the log , I could see that says the value is not a float.

Any idea?

Hi, first of all thanks for the compliment. Always nice to get positive feedback

Second, your setup not working is probably my fault if you are using version 1.25. There was an issue with all variables parsing to the empty string and that's probably why the error message occurred.

I uploaded a quickfix, version 1.25b. It will be available in a few hours. Please update and try again. If it still does not work, send me a PM.

Ey thank you for your answer, I was getting really crazy , cause one day I tried it fast and it worked I decided to do end it another day , but when I tried (probably the app update alone) I couldn't make it work again I spent all day making test :) now works wonderful.

One, thing , when I update remotly the value the yellow filling changes but not the control itself (I don't know exactly how to explain) ,is any way to fix?

Ahh another think , have you thinked in the posibility to add drawing stuff, like rectangles and circles to make the remotes more beutiful.

About the seekbar value change: If any change occurs, the action worked as supposed to. I don't know why the handle does not move (as I think that's what you meant) but it would help to know which Android version you are using. I don't know of any other case where this behavior has been observed.

There is already quite a lot of ways to make your remotes look nicer. First of all, the layouts have a "background" property where you can put any picture file. Second, the button's "design" property provides the same functionality for buttons, letting you choose their background picture or shape depending on the button state. Currently, Seekbars and Ratingbars don't have that property. It will be implemented at some point.
Let me know if you had some other features in mind regarding the drawing stuff.

I added a picture about what I mean about the seekbar ,really it's not important, it's just when I first open the layout the seekbar look strange.

About the drawing options , what I mean that will be cool to have some drawing posibilites ,to make squares and circles ,so this way for example I could draw a square with rounded corners around the buttons with a related function (like media control for example) and i could change their properties with the macros, changing the color, for example when itunes is playing i could change the color to green in a square under the buttons.

But it's just trying to make it more beautiful , your program is amazing now:)

I'll have a look into this SeekBar issues.

For your drawing purposes: You can change a button's icon or Design with an action (Widget Data -> Set -> Icon/Design) so maybe you can create a design "Media playing" and another "Media stopped" with the corresponding background rects or circles and then set the right design in the macros. This is basically the same as changing colors.

Buttons are also supposed to be usable as inactive graphic elements. Simply deactivate them (or don't assign any actions) and they also serve as simple text boxes or, in your case, visual aids.

Hope this works as planned.

you don't really need drawing tool, you can design any remote you want, any size any shape and look for every button, i only starting to do all my remotes, i have more than 20 to do (and after finish them on the phone i need to do them all for my tablet) for now i invested most of the time in all the macros and actions, i only started a little with the design, but here are few example of what you can do (nothing is finished, only starting, especially with the home, back etc at the bottom )
