Getting out of screensaver mode...

Post by andyd »

So far, I have not been able to get my PC to come out of screensaver mode. Eventghost picks up the fact that the screensaver is enabled and it picks up the remote presses - screensaver still remains on.

I've tried using Process Watcher and the script here...

http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtop ... f=2&t=3297

To watch for the screensaver to come on. Both work. Just not sure what to do from there.

I tried adding the re-enable monitor action to the Windows Key. I've also tried adding the process and what the script picks up to Enable Exclusive and still the screensaver stays.

Anyone know what I'm missing?

I tried the Example.xml and I couldn't tell from that how screensavers were handled. I also checked two other configs from users and I can't tell how they are handling screen savers. I assume the "re-enable monitor" action needs to be used considering it mentions in the description it can handle getting the monitor out of screensaver mode but not sure what else is required from there.

Also, it's weird but I would expect if I launch an app that the screensaver will turn off. It doesn't. I'll launch WMC like I normally do but it'll just be in the background. I have to use my physical keyboard to get out of screensaver mode.

Below is my current set up for this...

This sounds like a Windows 8 bug. Maybe you can just kill the process with the start application action and taskkill.exe

Why do you think it's a Windows 8 bug?

Anyone? Seems like something that must have come up previously.
