Razberry Zway - poll

Post by krambriw »

Hello,

I have played a while with a Raspberry PI, the RaZberry Z-Wave module with Z-Wave software and it is actually working very nice. If you would have interest in a plugin for EG , please respond to the poll above. Depending on peoples interest, my priorities will be influenced...

Best regards, Walter

Walter,
It has been a while since I looked at the open source Z-Wave projects. I bought a Vera 3 because a year'ish ago the projects, like Open ZWave, were buggy and had tons of gaps... like no way to control door locks. Looks like that might have been partially rectified?

Anyway... I think EG, as it stands today, is not a good home automation scene controller. The lack of basic logic streams (If/Then/Else) is a problem - then adding mullt-condition on top would become a nightmare. I'd love to centralize all my HA/HTPC control into a single app and a long time ago was hoping EG would become that... without a major update to the way EG processes it simply can never go beyond basic events without more effort than it is worth when you have some great devices/apps that are made properly to do so.

just my $0.02
setup... XBMC, W7MC for DVR & Live OTA TV, JRMC for multi-zone audio, EG, MiCasaVerde Vera3, USB-UIRT IR receiver, Harmony remote, 5.2 home theater system
