Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost
I have a other question for you, if you don't mind. I have a feeling the answer is going to be in the form of another python script so your first answer should be "learn python" but any way to the question. is there a way to run a certain Macro if the button is pressed normal and another if it is pressed for say longer than one second? Thanks in advance!
Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost
Hi, currently there might be a complicated way to do that but the next version will contain a long click option anyway. I just came back from holidays so you might have to wait a week or so.

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost
Hi,
terRemote Pro is a very awesome App. Well done!
I am trying to interface terRemote with Tasker and AutoRemote.
This looks to be a great way to get EventGhost to communicate with terRemote on or off the wifi network as AutoRemote uses the devices URL but I am having an issue launching a task from terRemote:
I am able to create a button and assign an action to it 'tasker'. When i click the magnifying glass the
In the terRemote log I get the following message
Tasker(Invoke Task) - 'Task Name'
No permission to send Tasker events
I looked through tasker and found a section under preferences to 'Allow External Access' but am still not getting it to work.
Tasker allows you to create scenes with buttons, but they are not nearly as clean as the buttons in terRemote.
Any help would be awesome...thanks in advance!

Hi,
thanks for using terRemote
Usually, activating that option would have been my advice. Did you try to restart your device after enabling Tasker remote access? Which version of Tasker and terRemote do you use?

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost
Hi Chris...thanks for the reply
I am using Tasker version 4.0u1
Using terRemote Pro1.26
Launching an event from Tasker works...just not the other way for some reason.
Tried rebooting..no luck.
Could this require a re-install of terRemote maybe? I have not tried that yet.

Hi,
reinstalling could maybe solve this, assuming that your current installation is somehow flawed.
You can also send me a PM with your email address. Maybe I can give you an experimental version to see if the issue gets fixed.

bryanleesterk:
Ran into this same issue. It appears that the payload option comes populated by default even though it does not show it. The easy way that I used to stop it from showing as two events in EG is to open the payload property add a space and then delete it then save it. After that it will only show as a single event in EG without any payload.I have a question that I hope someone can help me out with. Setting up direction keys I am trying to use the durable option so i can press and hold the button and event ghost will see it as multiple button presses. That part is no problem, but what is, is on a single press eventghost recognizes and 2 button presses (withoutRelease & buttonRelease). I have tried different macros (jump, etc.) in event ghost to try to work around the issue but am having no success. I'm sure someone (dev) has an easy fix. And because I'm sure I'll get an answer I'll give a peak at my work in progress with this awesome app!

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost
I too am no longer able to invoke Tasker tasks. It says the same thing about not having permission, even though allow external access is checked.
Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost
@therealbiglou: I'm on it, just sent out a beta version. Unfortunately, the latest Tasker version is different between devices and I can not all test them. Not all of them currently seem to work. But I have an idea how to fix it.
@robm999: I tried copying what you described but it does not seem to change anything. It still shows up with the "withoutRelease" and "ButtonRelease" payload plus the ip. No other payload in any case. Could you elaborate a bit? How does the event look?
Debugging this, I noticed that the enduring events of the EventGhost app by Tim Hoeck do not show anymore on my computer (EG version 0.4.1.r1610). Did anyone else experience the same?

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost
Never mind, I fixed the issue with the durable option. It will be in the next update.
Thanks, robm999 and bryanleesterk!

Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost
I noticed that on the last update the option was added for "long press" (thank you btw) but now it seems the durable option is not working, at least for long pressing and auto repeating a macro in eg. Any way to get the best of both worlds?
Re: terRemote - Android remote app for EventGhost
@therealbiglou: You're welcome. Thanks to EdgarAuto for beta testing!
@ntk1: UDP will probably be in the next upgrade. HTTP will come at some point as well.
@bryanleesterk: You're right, durable events are currently only supported by click actions, not by long click actions. This will be implemented soon along with keydown and keyup actions. I have to do some more testing to ensure they are not interfering with each other, though.
