Disable Windows Handling of MCE Remote?

Here is my dilemma.

I have built a new HTPC and have a standard RC6 MCE (RRC126) remote. Windows automatically detects this and almost all buttons work right out of the box.

So I wanted to reprogram some of the buttons to do other things in XBMC. Programming ones that are not mapped by default is no problem, I can use Keyboard emulation or XBMC2 plugin or whatever. The issue is with buttons already mapped by windows. For instance the Up button is mapped and if I remap that..I am now performing two commands.

Is there some way around this...it seems sometimes Event Ghost automatically disables windows handling..it has before but these last few times it has not.... I am not sure what the proper solution is here.

LM Remote KeyMap will do what you're wanting. It has profiles for most remote styles and can allow you to program commands and macros for any remote button.

This is separate from EventGhost. EG cannot hijack all the remote commands, especially on the RC6 remotes. That means, no matter what you try, pressing the green button will always open WMC. Using a program like KeyMap will allow you to change this behavior.

In a lot of ways this program functions like EG in that you can create macros and stack commands for each event. Additionally, you can create custom program-based profiles so that buttons do different things based on what program is in focus.

Sounds great, sounds like I might need just that and nothing else or maybe I can use it in conjunction with Eventghost to do some other stuff (like in XBMC etc)
