I have a Rosewill remote (RHRC-11002) with a "moon" button. The button is used to put computer to sleep and wake it.
I'm trying to modify it so the sleep button so it only wakes the computer (this is the only button on the remote able to wake it).
I had to find a way to prevent the button from putting the computer to sleep so i was wondering if it was possible with EventGhost.
If EventGhost can attribute a different function to this button in Windows then it won't put the computer to sleep anymore. And when my computer is sleeping i will still be able to wake it with the button since EventGhost won't be running.
Problem is that when i press the button i only get "System.Suspend" in the log.
I have windows configured to automatically go to sleep after 1 hour of inactivity.
So the problem is that if i map an action in EventGhost with the event "System.Suspend" then the system won't go to sleep anymore
So is there a solution for my situation ? How can i repurpose my MCE remote sleep button while still allowing the system to go to sleep after 1 hour of inactivity ?

Why not just set your computer to go to sleep after one hour of inactivity using the Power Options settings (Windows 8: Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Edit Plan Settings ["Change when the computer sleeps"])? The EG plug-in intercepts the button press, not the thing the button press is mapped to.How can i repurpose my MCE remote sleep button while still allowing the system to go to sleep after 1 hour of inactivity ?

My computer is already programmed to go to sleep. But i was worried about it not working anymore if i program EventGhost to execute a different action on "System.Suspend"

I'm not sure that I completely understand your questions, but I'll try again. Your computer's ability to go to sleep after an hour of inactivity is unrelated to the remapping of your remote's sleep button. Now, if you press the sleep button on the remote, your computer won't go to sleep unless you've mapped it in EG to that action. As far as waking up from sleep, I'm not sure as I don't know if EG is intercepting the button press when your PC is sleeping.
