Hi there
I got an ir-remote when i bought a TV-Card but it turned out that the remote sucked, at least for tv-use. Now I wanna take my mce for this job and instead, use the dvbsky for other stuff (primarily music).
So, my question would be, if I can use it with EG at all? Because I haven't found a plugin..

Well, I understand you are sitting with a dvbsky ir remote in your hand? To use it with EG, you need an ir receiver attached that is supported by EG. Simplest thing is something supported by winlirc. You could even build it yourself rather easily. Just google winlirc. Once you have it fixed, there is support for winlirc via the Lirc plugin in EG.
Other alternatives are ther such as USB-UIRT, IR Toy, KeeneAnywhere and others

I used SmartRC and connected it to the lirc-plugin in EG.
