Turn off monitor completely

Post by Sagehorn »

Hey there

Does anybody know a way to turn off the display completely by using the remote control?
The standby-mode s*cks, because it's too fast awake, for example when I change volume (graphics..) or small mouse "vibrations". Also makes sense if you want to save energy and hardware..

I actually cut the power to my monitors using an insteon relay. I do it when i'm not home, or when i'm watching TV because my TV is set up as an extra monitor, so i don't have the others on.

Yeah, a relay switch like a Z-Wave one would work, or if you have more than 1 monitor, just disable the one you're not using with software, eg. by using catalyst control if it's an AMD card.
