Single Button Command Layers?

Post by Kl1q »

Hello All,

Im in the process of switching over from uICE/XP to EventGhost/Win7

I'm using an old ATI RemoteWonder to send keyboard commands to foobar2000, mainly for detailed file-tagging. I can't seem to find "layer switchingÔÇØ capabilities for a single button pressed consecutively.

I'm familiar with the layer switching in uICE to allow multiple commands with a single button in succession.

Can this be done with EventGhost? Adding a "3 sec timeout or press any other button = return to 1st layer" rule would be icing on the cake.

Essentially, I want to press button A repeatedly to cycle through 10 different keyboard commands in foobar2000. I want button A to start cycling from the 1st command (not where I was last in the cycle) if any other button has been pressed (or after a 3 sec pause). I hope this makes sense.

Thanks in advance!

If I understood correctly, the desired functionality can be found in the Multitap plugin.

WharfRat has also done a nice write-up of using a single remote button in multiple contexts: Techniques: controlling multiple programs

Thank you Pako. The way the [Multitap] plugin waits for your selection to deliver a single command along with the on screen visual is 10x better than what I was used to with uICE. Multitap is absolutely perfect for my needs.

When the time comes, I will be asking for recommendations on upgrading my remote to an iPad solution (something with 63+ fully customizable buttons on a single page, to start with). Lol
