Unable to read XML file

I have had previous versions of EG running fine for a couple of months using an XML file I'd created and I have just tried to install EG 0.3.0 and it doesn't even seem to try to read it.

I start EG and try to open my XML file and it doesn't appear to do anything. When trying to stop EG after this it sometimes hangs.

I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling (also deleting the directories), going back to the previous version and it no longer works at all.

Any help would be appreciated.

It seems to be OK here.

Just to make sure, try the following again, even if you did it before:
1. Copy your XML to a safe place.
2. Make sure EG is not running.
3. Manually delete the whole folder of EventGhost in "C:\Program Files"
4. Install 0.3.0 again.

If this doesn't help, it might be a problem of the USB-UIRT.

Yes, looks like it's the USB-UIRT, seems to hang EG when I try and initialise the plugin. The lrnhelper app doesn't seem to do anything either.

I will try the USB-UIRT forum, thanks for your help.

Turns out it's because I'm running ORB as well. Previously ORB was initialising after EG, by installing the latest version of EG, ORB was getting in first. It grabs the USB-UIRT and won't let anything else use it. Stopping ORB and everything is ok and it allows EG to initialise ok.

You can launch ORB from EG if you want. Just use a "System/Start Program" in the autostart macro, or even better: launch it through the "OnInitAfterBoot" event, that will only come a single time in every windows session.

Actually I have cleaned up all items in the Windows autostart folder and launch them through EG instead, because this way I can control the order they are started.
