Hello all,
This is my first post. I did some research and haven't quite found the answer to my question. Here goes. Is it possible to have a macro (associated with a button press) send different keystrokes based on a time interval between button presses? Specifically, I want to set up my remotes numeric keys to act much like a cell phone when texting (i.e. press 1 for a, press again within a second for b, press a third time within a second and send c). I wasn't sure if I needed to do some advanced scripting within python of if I can do it thru the gui or even at all.
thanks so much for any help you can provide

Re: Conditional responses based on time
Theoretical you can do this by combining many "enable exclusive" macro groups and scheduled events (with EventGhost/Trigger Event actions or actions of the "Timer" plugin) to reset the states on timeout. Take a look at the state examples in the Example.xml to get an idea how to switch states.
But this would be a big bunch of macros to get it working. So if you have some scripting skills, it would possibly much easier to do it with a script. Or even a plugin if you want to have it perfect.
