Re: SONOS Plugin Official (download here)
Yeah the Bridge is a router in my mind.
I'm starting to think it's something else then disconnecting power because the EventGhost plugin will stop working even while everything is connected.
Like just now, I got this error:

Re: SONOS Plugin Official (download here)
Hi Telorast,
I can't tell in the text posted, after seeing the SONOS.ERROR 'ZoneGroupTopologyEvent XML error:... do you see red text in the EG console? Based on what I see an error is occurring but the plugin should continue to run normally or expected as long as it's received a proper --- EVENT Received --- ZoneGroupTopology from in the beginning. Can you confirm that the plugin no longer sends commands or receives events after this error?
This error is due to a ZoneGroupTopology event received that I've never seen before. The ZoneGroupTopology is what tells the plugin what ZPs are grouped and which is the coordinator of the group to send the right rendering commands to. The plugin subscribes to one ZP that will send events to the plugin whenever the group topology changes or is updated. The plugin is expecting a certain message and it's receiving something else.
for some reason your ZP is sending this within this same event:
This might have to do with the PlayBar but right now I couldn't say.
I've never seen this before. Most likely i'll just have to update the event handler to ignore this for now. I'll try to put that in the latest update i'm working on now.

You are right in that it still works. Other times when I been trying to figure it out EventGhost has just kept repeating that error but that doesn't seem to be the case this time.
Re: SONOS Plugin Official (download here)
Hi Telorast,
If you want for future debugging you could install this plugin:
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2852
This will output the EG console to a text file and then that could be sent to me so I can see everything going on. The file keeps all output even between new EG sessions from restarting or shutting down and restarting EG. If you do this, I would suggest changing the SONOS debug level to the highest value.
NOTE: the logging plugin should be the first plugin to start which is accomplished by making sure it's at the top of the plugin list in EG.

Re: SONOS Plugin Official (download here)
Ok, I'll try that next time.
Moved my bathroom speaker so I can test how stable things are without power loss problems. Will see how that goes first.

Re: SONOS Plugin Official (download here)
Hi all,
The latest SONOS plugin has been updated. See the first post of this thread.
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=6078
I believe I have addressed the issues and additions that have been brought up so far with the help of you guys. If I have missed something let me know.
Telorast, arjanm
starting up the SONOS plugin should work better when searching for SONOS players now and dealing with multiple active network ports (see the first post for more details).
egbaud,
thanks for the support in helping with the playbar commands
jonasbegood,
thanks for your support and grouping has been added.
Jostein,
Thanks for your support as well
Version 0.9 adds:
better searching of the ZPs on the network
Grouping of ZPs
Selecting TV input on Playbars
Fixing the ZPs removed and added to the network events (see first post for details of the events)
adjusting group volume (relative, set, and mute)
changing the name of a ZP
The purpose for changing the name of the ZP in my case is because i have a Connect that I split the audio output to two different rooms (zones). The switching occurs through a physical switch controlled by EG. This now allows me to also update the name of the ZP within the app based on the room it's actually going to so when anyone picks up the app they know which room the audio is playing in and it saves me the money of having to buy another Connect.
The latest SONOS plugin has been updated. See the first post of this thread.

Fixed! Thanks!
Re: SONOS Plugin Official (download here)
Just wanted to say that this is working great. Here's one of the ways I'm using it.
I have my TV connected to my PC. I use it both for normal computer stuff and for HTPC-type stuff. I use a gyration mouse to control it. Before I got my Sonos playbar, I used volumouse to control audio with the gyration mouse wheel. After I got the playbar, that didn't work very well.
I've written a little EG macro using a python command and your plugin that responds to the System Volume event by changing the playbar volume to match, like this.
eg.plugins.Sonos.VolumeSet(u'RINCON_000E58B0C20801400',eg.event.payload)
Works like a charm and solves my playback volume problems.
Thanks for a great plugin.

Re: SONOS Plugin Official (download here)
I just read about the Sonos plugin and possible problems.
I am using it with a Playbar, 2x Play3 in combination with Sub and a stand-alone Play 3.
I encounter problems when I switch off one of my Sonos speakers (to save the earth and energy) and switch them back on again for use.
The plugin won't recognise the speaker even after "relaunching" the Sonos plugin.
Only shutting down Eventghost and restarting the program (and as such the Sonos plugin) will get the control back through Eventghost.
The Sonos speaker is switched on and off through an event in Eventghost.
Is there no way to relaunch the MSEARCH as an event after switching on my Sonos speaker to get control back of this speaker through Eventghost?

Hi wkumeling,
bear with me, can you clarify a few things:
Thanks.

Can you clarify how you switch them off and on and which one specifically you are referring too? In your setup you explained above, you'll really only have the standalone play3 and the playbar to control (the others should show up but there isn't much you can do with them in EG if they are paired with the playbar)I just read about the Sonos plugin and possible problems.

By relaunching do you mean stopping and restarting the plugin or removing it and adding it back? The plugin won't recognise the speaker even after "relaunching" the Sonos plugin.
is there an external device that you are controlling with EG that is removing the power to the speaker or another command sent directly to the SONOS speaker?Only shutting down Eventghost and restarting the program (and as such the Sonos plugin) will get the control back through Eventghost.
The Sonos speaker is switched on and off through an event in Eventghost.
You should not need to retrigger MSEARCH when adding a speaker to the system. The plugin should see it once the speaker comes online and sends a broadcast out (which it does once it has fully booted). There was a bug with the add and remove triggers but they should have been fixed int he latest 0.9.1 release. Can you confirm when you remove the SONOS player that the event for a SONOS speaker being removed is shown and that when power is turned back on the event is seen when it comes back online? This can take some time and won't happen right away.Is there no way to relaunch the MSEARCH as an event after switching on my Sonos speaker to get control back of this speaker through Eventghost?
Thanks.

Re: SONOS Plugin Official (download here)
If you are only power cycling one of them you can work around the problem by pairing it to an always on speaker. That way it will just copy the current settings from it's partner when restarted.
I find it very useful for my bathroom speaker since permanent power in a bathroom has safety concerns. I just start some music on the paired speaker outside and hop in the shower, then a minute later when the bathroom speaker has reconnected it starts playing the music too.

Re: SONOS Plugin Official (download here)
Dear techoguy,
I am using Eventghost version 0.3.7.r1436. This is for me the most stable version I am running already for years now.
It has the Dynamic Webserver plugin running. This allows me to to give commands to EG through HTTP. Sonos macro's are triggered on these commands. I have made a webpage for each of the Sonos loudspeakers systems. (see picture)
In order to switch them off and save energy I use for the Play3 stand alone an ELV IP-Switch IPS1. This IP switch reacts on httpget command I send through the same Dynamic webserver page and a python script. This python script is launching a batch file with httpget (httpget http://192.168.100.192/ips.cgi?Aus=Aus aus.txt) .
If I switch ON the Sonos speaker and try to regain control it doesn't work.
For another pair of Sonos speakers in another room I use an Edimax SP-1101W with a python script and curl.
Re-launching the Sonos plugin by selecting the plugin in the list and clicking on the green play button (or execute item) does not resolve the problem. Only restarting the EG program will execute the initialisation of the Sonos plugin. Disabling and enabling does the trick but can't be automated (as far as I know).
BTW: I am using Sonos plugin version: 0.9.2 beta, the latest available for download.

Re: SONOS Plugin Official (download here)
Hi wkumeling,
when you shutoff the speaker and it comes back on then you try sending commands, what errors are you seeing? can you send me a log output from the time you shut the speaker off and the time you turn the speaker back on and you try to send commands (assuming at least enough time has gone by to allow SONOS to fully boot up and initialize)?
As for Re-launching, simply selecting the plugin and selecting the green play button wont' do anything because the item is already started. I believe the play button is more for running actions you've already created vs for starting plugins. Disabling and enabling the plugin will restart the plugin.
Also,
SONOS wasn't designed to be turned off due to their mesh network architecture. If you are frequently shutting down certain speakers this might causes issues for your system long term. Note that if a speaker is not active for a certain time it does go into a sleep mode which drops it's power usage significantly. I'm not trying to tell you not to do what you are doing, only so you are aware.
Hi Telorast,
based on your response, does that mean the plugin isn't seeing the zone player leave and rejoin the network as expected? I had made a few changes and tested on my system and it was working but i don't normally add and remove ZPs. When I have my system has come back up without me doing anything to EG.
