X10 House Sequrity System

What is the simplest way to get the signal from my house sequrity system to EG?
It supports X10 and I can control X10-devices from that system.
I found out that there is a X10-plugin for EG, but is it possible to "recieve" or is it for "transmitting" only?

If it┬┤s capable of "recieveing" what hardware do I need? (PC-interface?)

I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen, I can help you to get a CM11a to talk to the x10 devices from EG but not the other way around.

The "X10 Remote" plugin is intended as an RF remote receiver plugin only. It works with the X10 media RF remotes. We have no plugin to control X10 home automation equipment currently, but you can control them with their command line application, as CollinR did. But this gives you no events from the devices.

Now the funny part:
Somebody lent me a MS13 Presence Detector for some time.

This device transmits over RF and not the powerline. And an X10 remote receiver with the "X10 Remote" plugin receives this signal and generates events if somebody moves.

But I guess your security system uses the X10 powerline system (and not RF) and therefore this wont work for you.

My system support X10 RF-devices (presence detectors etc) but I do not know if it also can transmit RF...

This can probably be done then, and I would be happy to help.

I think the biggest problem will be the range of the x10 RF stuff, my x10 remote sucks. My Firefly which is really just OEM x10 has twice the range. I don't know if it's the transmit or recieve though. Still it's range is nowhere close to what I think you would need.

Bitmonster, most x10 security stuff I have seen is RF. The device that concerns me is the siren, that may need more then a battery would supply.

My Nvidia x10 reciever (# CM21a) doesn't seem to catch anything from my x10 CC remote (# KR22A).

Well thus far anyway...

My Wireless Transceiver (# TM751) is recieving the commands and it's quite a ways away, I might need to look into cm11a support more as I do is it gets bounced back up here as it should. It seems the old ActiveHome disregaurds this however it's taskbar icon flashes.

Would it be possible to use the RS232-plugin to talk to a "X10-RS232"-interface like:

If so, it should be simple to get the X10 communication working on the powerlines...!?

What do specifically do you want to be able to do?

You can send messages via PLC using the CM11a and command line interface, however you will get nothing back. I think we assumed you wanted the alarm to talk to EG and not the other way around.

True, I want the alarm to activate events in EG.
And if there are possibilities to communicate with other devices (X10) in both directions, thats a bonus.

In the Powerlinc-device you seem to have possibilities to communicate both directions in your powerlines at your home. You should also be able to plug in a converter like http://www.x10.com/automation/x10_tm751.htm or http://www.intellihome.be/english/produ ... asp?id=434.

That should mean that you can communicate by your powerlines or RF.
It┬┤s just to set up a plugin that communicate with the Powerlinc module via EG┬┤s RS232-module...?

Or am I just dreaming?
