Hi all
I'm trying to set up an Ortek VRC 1100 remote using the auvisio-VRC1100 plug in. My intention is to use one of the buttons to open Itunes.
When I press the buttons on the remote all the events are showing up in the log.
Problem is that the remote no long works. Mouse doesn't work, green button doesn't open Windows Media Centre etc......
What have I done wrong?
Kind regards, Andrew

Help setting up remote please
Re: Help setting up remote please
Looks like it works as designed.fobos8 wrote:When I press the buttons on the remote all the events are showing up in the log.
Non of the default functionality is available when EventGhost takes over the remote, you need to map all buttons (Events from the log) to macros.Problem is that the remote no long works. Mouse doesn't work, green button doesn't open Windows Media Centre etc......
I guess you have not read the documentation? Look here, start with the "Short manual". And this forum has many discussions how to do stuff. What have I done wrong?

Re: Help setting up remote please
thanks jonib for your reply
I mainly use the remote for Windows Media Centre so mapping the buttons will be easy.
However, I also use the mouse on this remote to move a pointer when surfing the internet.
Will this not be possible if EventGhost takes over the remote?
Regards, Andrew

Re: Help setting up remote please
.....another thought. If I just want to use change what one of the keys on the remote does would it make more sense to not use evenghost and change something in the registry?
All I want to do is use one button to open Itunes

If you only want to change one button, it's probably easier to use the default remote support and change the button from the registry.fobos8 wrote:.....another thought. You have mouse support in EventGhost don't know how easy/functional it is with the mouse support on your remote(Have not done any testing)However, I also use the mouse on this remote to move a pointer when surfing the internet.

Hi jonibIf you only want to change one button, it's probably easier to use the default remote support and change the button from the registry.
I think this would be easier - is there documentation anywhere on how to do this/could you expand on it?
Regards, Andrew
Re: Help setting up remote please
All I know is this "Manual Remote Setup" don't know if it works with your remote. Anyway it would not be EventGhost related.fobos8 wrote:I think this would be easier - is there documentation anywhere on how to do this/could you expand on it?

Hi Jonib
Set this up with AutoHotKey in the end - it was a piece of cake.
