Set the priority level of the eventghost process

Post by zeflash »

Could you add a setting in EG's options to set the priority Level?
My problem is sometimes I have the playback application that goes mad and take 100% CPU. Its priority is higher than normal, therefore EG doesn't process any events anymore, and I have to kill the playing app using the actual keyboard.
If EG could run on high priority, it would probably fix that issue for me.

Thanks

You can use "start /HIGHPRIORITY" from a shortcut to achieve this.
I don't like the idea to do this inside EG, as this will only work for administrator accounts and will produce more problems than it solves.
Please post software-related questions in the forum - PMs will only be answered, if really private, thanks!

Ok, fair enough.
It was a bit more tricky that I thought though to modify the shortcut to achieve that.
Here's what needs to be in the Target of the shortcut:
path_to_windows\cmd.exe /c start "runhigh" /high "path_to_EG/eventghost.exe"
Have it start minimized (so the command window doesn't show) and it's all set.
