Hi friends
I'm using the latest version of EventGhost (0.4.1.r1691) which uses Python 2.x.
However every time I wanna play Assetto Corsa using Steam, the game crashes while loading my car. If I read the log file of the game, it's a python error. Assetto Corsa using Python 3.x
If I close EventGhost and then start Assetto Corsa again the game will work without any problems.
How can I fix this problem without closing EventGhost every time? Can I use EventGhost with Python 3.x?
Thanks in advance
Baccata

EventGhost crashing Assetto Corsa (game) while running
Re: EventGhost crashing Assetto Corsa (game) while running
What error are you getting?Baccata wrote:However every time I wanna play Assetto Corsa using Steam, the game crashes while loading my car. If I read the log file of the game, it's a python error. Assetto Corsa using Python 3.x
I have a hard time believing the game tries to use or is conflicting with EventGhosts Python 2 as they should be separate. I think there must be something else conflicting. How can I fix this problem without closing EventGhost every time? Can I use EventGhost with Python 3.x?
And it would not be easy to move EventGhost to Python 3.

Hi jonib
It's without a debt a python error.
windows error window "acs.exe stopped working" (acs.exe is the Assetto Corsa game exe)jonib wrote:What error are you getting?

To be clear: If I close EventGhost (which starts with windows) before starting Assetto Corsa the game will work every time. If EventGhost is still running, the game will never work.jonib wrote:I have a hard time believing the game tries to use or is conflicting with EventGhosts Python 2 as they should be separate.
I also tried to install python 3.4.2 but no success.jonib wrote:I think there must be something else conflicting.
What a pity.jonib wrote:And it would not be easy to move EventGhost to Python 3.

I meant what error are you getting that makes you think it's Python related?Baccata wrote:windows error window "acs.exe stopped working" (acs.exe is the Assetto Corsa game exe)jonib wrote:What error are you getting?

I understood that, I'm just thinking it it should(could) be something else in EventGhost thats conflicting. To be clear: If I close EventGhost (which starts with windows) before starting Assetto Corsa the game will work every time. I would assume the game is using an internal version of Python, as is EventGhost so installing a separate Python won't have any effect.I also tried to install python 3.4.2 but no success.
Hopefully someone will look into updating EventGhost to use a newer version of Python, even if a newer version of 2.x.What a pity.jonib wrote:And it would not be easy to move EventGhost to Python 3.

The Assetto Corsa log file. The Assetto Corsa support also interprets it as a python error (after reading the log file).jonib wrote:I meant what error are you getting that makes you think it's Python related?
I also though about that, but I didn't find any way to disable EventGhost while the game is running.jonib wrote:I understood that, I'm just thinking it it should(could) be something else in EventGhost thats conflicting.
Good point.jonib wrote:I would assume the game is using an internal version of Python, as is EventGhost so installing a separate Python won't have any effect.
btw: If I'm closing EventGhost, running Assetto Corsa, closing Assetto Corsa and starting EventGhost again and then starting Assetto Corsa again (while EventGhost is still running) the game will work. How's that possible? I'm confused
Re: EventGhost crashing Assetto Corsa (game) while running
You do realize I can't log into your computer to read the Assetto Corsa log file, so I'm asking for the third and last time WHAT (not where or why or how ) error you are getting that makes you think it's Python related.Baccata wrote:The Assetto Corsa log file. Re: EventGhost crashing Assetto Corsa (game) while running
That don't really look like an error to me.Baccata wrote:Assetto Corsa log.txt last 3 lines:

But any way try to have EventGhost running but with an empty config, so nothing is loaded except for EventGhost itself. And see if there is a problem running the game.
So we might be able to identify what is causing the conflict.
