Notification for traybar (Windows Media Center trick)

Post by paulpaul »

Hallo, I would like to use a very simple remote control for Windows Media Center: just few buttons! I need to reduce the number of buttons and in order to do so, I have to use the same button for different commands according to the context (for example "left button" on the remote control will go left when on the Windows Media Center interface, but will jump forward when playing a video).
Currently I can understand a video (.avi .mpg .mkv .mov ..) is playing thanks to the ffdshow plugin (if eg.results returns "none" means no video is currently playing, on the contrary if eg.results is different from none, there is a video currently playing).. except for .wtv (recorded TV) files :x that doesn't use ffdshow! The only way could be to verify if "LAV codec" or "FFDSHOWAUDIO codec" or "AC3 codec" is running, but how can I do this (they don't initiate nothing, no new process, no new window, nothing except icons in the traybar)? there is a way to notify eventghost there is a new icon in the traybar?
I'm going crazy try to solve this issue. Thanks for your help!
