TV Remote Context Switching

Post by Talguy »

I finally took the time to setup different key mappings for my remote based on the active task in my foreground. To do this I used the task plugin to trigger certain macros when say Task.kodi.activated is triggered. My setup worked great while I was actually using it. Once I shut the TV off (Computer runs 24/7) it seems like the task plugin would trigger a deactivated signal when the computer fell asleep causing my context to go to my default state that emulates a mouse. So when I turned the TV back on I always had to unfocus of the foreground application (usually Kodi) then focus it again so that eventghost triggers the correct context. What is the best way to prevent this issue from happening?

How does everyone setup their remote controller key mapping contexts?
