Growl for Windows

Post by knobblywobbly »

Hi everyone,

Would it be possible to link EventGhost with Growl for Windows (www.growlforwindows.com). This would then allow EventGhost to send a visual message to a users PC, which could be used for confirmation of events, etc.

Unfortunately, although I love messing around with this kind of stuff, I┬┤m not clever enough to do this kind of integration or write plugins :D

There may be a more integrated solution I'm unaware of, but I use the command line to make them talk. EventGhost can make calls to executables, and growl can receive event via executable/command line with the built-in "growlnotify" command.

I created a display that trigger events in the program EventGhost.
Currently, I am also working on a plugin for EventGhost, which will send notifications to the Growl.

I created a new plugin - Growl (Growl for Windows of course).
With this plugin you can send a notifications to Growl.
This allows you to use a lot of nice OSD to display your information.

I have been using growl for a mac client for quite some time now and it really is working great. I am not sure if the same easy implementation can be boasted of on windows but I think it would be just the same.

Creating a display trigger would really be at the base level, if you let me. That way, it will be able to send the notifications to the growl and have it multicasted.

I'm sorry, but I have no idea how Prowl works.
I have no opportunity using it, since Apple products are unavailable to me.

I also have no idea on Growl works. Is it a new application in Windows? Is it available on Windows 10? Or is it downloadable as an independent program?
