ya know i really hate the way this forum works, this happens more times then i can count, if i leave the screen up in the middle of typing something and when i come back it forces me to log back in it deletes what i types.

HATE IT

ok so.

i think i have it fixed, i am not going to release this one out there yest so if ya need it message me.

could be buggy i don't have a UI7 based vera to test with, unless someone wants to provide me with vpn access, or an rdp that i can code form to get this thing going faster, i am just guessing at things here, but i am pretty sure i got it sorted.

this version has a whole crap load of extra stuff in it that i have been coding i just made the modification to this copy i am working on so some of the extras are a work in progress,

on another note, i just got the pain in the backside menu thing to work, i have 2 small problems to sore out, one is with backing up levels, if i go forward and then back up then go forward again and then back, it drops the menu early. that shouldn't be to hard to figure

the other is since this change i made for the ui7 the menu has stopped grabbing the data dunno gotta see, it gets everything but the actual actions,

scrolls up and down all nice nice .

message me if you want to test this thing out on ui7 for me.

i still don't understand the need to change the name of the categories..

look at this crap

there are a total of 23 of them i am going to post a couple

here are the new ones

<categorie name="Interface" id="1"/>
<categorie name="Dimmable Switch" id="2"/>
<categorie name="On/Off Switch" id="3"/>
<categorie name="Sensor" id="4"/>
<categorie name="Thermostat" id="5"/>
<categorie name="Doorlock" id="7"/>
<categorie name="Remote" id="9"/>
<categorie name="Temperature Sensor" id="17"/>

and here are the old ones

categorie name="Dimmable Light" id="2"/>
<categorie name="Switch" id="3"/>
<categorie name="Thermostat" id="5"/>
<categorie name="Humidity Sensor" id="16"/>
<categorie name="Temperature Sensor"

why??!??!

why touch it?

HATE IT
It has happened a couple of times to me as well. For me it has worked to use the browser back button, and viola, there my typed text was, I copied it to the clipboard and I could then paste it in again. Just as a backup solution ;)

alright!!!

Great addition coming up soon, possibly tomorrow.

it work just gotta clean it up a bit and fluff up the interface.

Security Cameras!!!
actually showing the video!!!

i gotta add some nice trinkets like update speed, and possibly size. tho i had some issues with that already we will see how it goes.

gonna make the boxes able to be directed to a location on a monitor. gonna be a really nice feature

all ya gotta do is use a battery operated zwave window or door sensor (small one) shove that bad larry up against the electromagnet in your doorbell, so when it rings it will tripp the sensor off. there for generating an event which in turn can fire up the video for that camera!!!

now if you happen to have the computer in dual monitor connected to your TV!!
have it overlay on your TV.

and while your at it may as well have the same event mute the audio that EG is controlling for ya ;)

damn i'm good!

another thought on that, i am going to have to test it out and see if it can be done.

Pako would know alot more about it then I.

there is an e-mail plugin that works for sending text messages as well (in a wierd round about sore of way.

or i am sure i could link it to pushbullet plugin as well.

but i can grab a still image very easily i am wondering if there is a transport mechanism in either one of thoes to send it??

if someone knows the answer that would help alot, save alot of time also

Sounds like it's getting better and better! :)

I think I found a little bug. If you don't specify a log file for the Watts, EG won't close. It hangs with:

File "C:\Program Files (x86)\EventGhost\eg\Classes\PluginInstanceInfo.py", line 231, in Close
self.instance.__close__()
File "C:\Program Files (x86)\EventGhost\plugins\MiCasaVerdeVera\__init__.py", line 587, in __close__
self.SaveWattsFile()
File "C:\Program Files (x86)\EventGhost\plugins\MiCasaVerdeVera\__init__.py", line 823, in SaveWattsFile
if self.wattsFilePath:
AttributeError: 'VeraK' object has no attribute 'wattsFilePath'

Cheers!

oh hey, check it for me will ya??

it's under the

def __start__(self ...........

you will see the if else about the self.wattsFilePath

just replace that stuff with this

Code: Select all

self.wattsFilePath = False if wattsFilePath == 'C:\\' else wattsFilePath
if not self.wattsFilePath:
    PN("Start", "No Location to load/save watts file")

Perfect. :)

No more crash, and those who aren't interested in the Watt log don't need to bother with it.

tanks budddy, i added it to the code on the version am working on

I wanted to ask a favor if you are intereted??.

are ya interested in writing up some docs on this thing????

i have got my hands really bound up trying to code this thing out. and it's getting very feature rich, and i think if i don't start now i'll forget alot of things.

and that would also allow more time for me to code, ya know? if i don't have to stop to key out docs on it??

this will also be a good way to get the bugs outta it.

i gotta go and screw around with my server, one of the HDD's failed in my raid array, and i threw another drive in but it's just a spare and not a perm drive, so i gotta yank it and do a rebuild.

it's been 7 years since i have done anything with the drives. i replaced them all 7 years ago because of a bad batch of seagates i got.

damn, 7 years of almost 24/7 up time.

i hate having to do that, but i forgot that i gave my spare to my friends kid because his drive failed and i didn't get a new one, so i threw in a drive that isn't the same as the ones in there

i mean this one isn't either but at least it's from the same series and same size and specs and all

then the 4 hour rebuild of 16 TB of data

woo hoo

it just slows down things alittle. not to bad tho. well not for me. if my wife uses one of the virtual computers it's god awful slow.

Well, I could try, but I'm not sure I understand it all well enough to do a good job. I have no idea about the OSD, for example, because I haven't had a go of it yet. Do you just mean how things work for a blurb at the beginning of the post, or something more grand?

Would something like GitHub be of use?

little more grand, a good explanation of how things work.

i am so close to getting the security cameras to work right. wx just don't like being outside of the main thread for the things i need to make the video update properly.

i have a work around but EG hangs for some reason and i do not know why because i get no error for it, and it's not at a defined amount of time. it's completely random. and the re-sizing of the image is kind of annoying.

pretty kewl how i get it set up to test it out. i have vera connected to my states traffic cameras LOL

kind of a neat feature to be able to pull those up too.
