I changed the permissions also. I can get Jriver to execute the IR blasts but I need a program that can execute IR macros based on system events. If I can't get that working, then I might try to use auto hotkey or event ghost to add context for different button presses, I.E. I press the green button, and it brings up the start menu, but when I hold it down it turns of my tv. I also have a pulse eight cec adapter but when I tried it before, I couldn't get it to work right. The PC would wake but change the TV input so something like xbox, instead of PC.

Well installation of Windows 10 went ok problem is use redirection from my computer is not working

Threw an error when updating the group policy from my domain controller I fixed the error but still no redirection I found some information about similar problems but I already have the solutions in place

There is some kind of a problem with the dll that controls the update to the gpo for Remote Desktop when I get some time I am going to remove that virtual machine from the domain and see if I can give it a swift kick and update the policy locally

Might fix my problem.

Funny thing tho on my physical machine the ehome receiver started working in eventghost just out of the blue it has something to do with the memory pipe but I was testing some code in a plugin and had to restart EG I didn't get a chance to investigate and Windows 10 seems like they are trying to be an iPhone LMAO

Unreal looks like I will be staying Windows 7 for a long while

If j own it it's mine and if a company changes something without permission that's illegal

holy cow this is a process to remove this computer from the domain

the upgrade to windows 10 wiped out all the groups associated with my local users accound and screwed with the pass


as well as there is a bug in the logon process..

unable to login locally by using the Username@computer

even tho it knows you are logging in locally because when it tells you where you are logging into as you type it in. but you have to use the old school method to actually logon

the Username\Computername method. what an annoyance

the easiest way for me to help at this point is to know exactly what you are trying to accomplish,

from point A to point B

if the devices you are trying to control have any kind of a serial/network interface there is a really good chance there is something made for it. and if not i could get something together pretty quickly

i usually have a 2-3 day turn around for plugins depending on complexity.

i hate using IR for anything i can't stand it. only because it's not 100% but on the device where that is the only method, i attach to the USB port of the device (most have them nowadays) and i can at least get power notification from that to know if the device is on or off. but i make it a driving thing to make sure if i am purchasing some device and if i have plans to incorporate it into my home automation to make sure i can control it from means other than IR. and if i have to. i will open said device and push the codes directly into the component by soldering down inside the thing (no IR really, but the pulses are there) so no mistakes that way.
i have tried to no end to get my receiver working in windows 10, but apparently Microsoft has broken something because from what i have read in prereleases of windows 10 the USB redirect worked, and in the final version it doesn't and i am not the only one. i have another computer i will pull out and dust off and i can upgrade that bugger to windows 10. i gotta move some wiring to separate one of my monitors from my everyday comp. i usually do everything with all my computers via RDP so all my monitors are attached to one box.

The login issue is weird on windows ten. You can still choose to log in locally, which is a good idea because if someone gets your credentials, they can lock you out of your own PC. you have to change it manually though. Its under settings>accounts
