Hi,
I just fired it up for the first time tonight. My problem is that I don't see the SageTV plugin. Where should it be? I just downloaded the latest version from SF. It says I have 0.3.5c.908
I would also be interested in a BTV plugin. I have seen mention of BTV on the forum. Is there a BTV plugin?
Now, here is what I am trying to do. I have EG on my fileserver with no user interaction. I have it hooked up to a Tira and the only thing I am trying to do with it is allow SageTV and BTV to use the Tira to change channels on my StarChoice sat receiver. Any pointers to how I do this would be fantastic. Most of the examples I have seen expect this to be on a user visible machine and therefore are centered around receiving IR signals and having EG poke an application. I will eventually need that on one of my client machines, but my first problem is getting Sage to change channels so I can start recording.
Currently I am using Girder 3.3 to change channels for BTV. I have had this working for years but now its time to change to SageTV.
Thanks for the help.
Greg

Where is the SageTV plugin?
Re: Where is the SageTV plugin?
Ok, I found the plugin. I had downloaded off of SF instead of from the latest beta. I am now running 0.3.6.1174.
Any help on changing channels would be great.
Thanks
Greg

For SageTV I guess our expert CollinR will kick in.
For BTV there is no plugin (till now). Can BTV call a command line application on changing channels?

Please post software-related questions in the forum - PMs will only be answered, if really private, thanks!

Re: Where is the SageTV plugin?
Okay after a while of thinking about this it is possible to use EventGhost to transcode application software (SageTV) to hardware Eventghost supports.
With SageTV there is a regestry key set whenever a channel change takes place.
You should be able to get EG to query for this value (System plugin) and fire an event based on it.
You would be miles ahead in the game if you just bought a USBUIRT, it is natively supported by all 4 apps (and countless others!).
Edit:
Attached is a file designed to integrate SageTV and Girder, it shouldn't be too difficult to adapt this to work with EventGhost.
