Eventghost stops reading my keyboard inputs randomly
Recently I've had this problem where a few times a day Eventghost will stop responding to my keyboard commands. Whenever I check the log it list my mouse hotkeys fine but nothing from my keyboard or my Harmony remote that's setup to function like a keyboard. I can also manually execute programs on EG and it works fine. To fix this problem this problem I simply have to restart EG or open up my eventghost save file and it recognizes the keyboard in the log again. But after dealing with this problem for a month now I'm looking for a solution so it doesn't happen again. Thanks.

did you notice this problem after you upgraded to windows 10?.
I am trying to confirm an issue i believe has surfaced with windows 10.
The Issue i believe is happening is in any other version of windows if you unplug a USB device and then check the windows drivers. using software other than the device manager. you will actually find that the driver is still installed. and windows has not uninstalled it. well in windows 10 it uninstalls the driver when you unplug the device. now this shouldn't be a problem. but what i think is happening is if your computer sleeps some main boards will shut the power off to the usb ports before windows actually goes to sleep. thus uninstalling the drivers. and since EG is running when this happens it has bound it's self to that instance of the drivers. and when they are uninstalled it causes a limbo state for EG because the driver was removed. and when the computer fires back up the drivers are reinstalled before the computer is fully awake and EG doesn't see them get installed.
This is all a Theory of mine because there are people that are running windows 10 with the same exact problem but with different devices.
and it happens only with windows 10.
now i have confirmed the delete of the drivers upon unplugging the USB. but only with the ehome drivers. same drivers used for your harmony remote.
you can try and mess around with your bios and changing the usb power state when sleeping and there are also settings in the driver for the USB hubs in device manager for sleep power states as well as in the Power settings in control panel.
i do not have windows 10 installed (and there is not a chance i would install it either). so i cannot test any of this. so if you happen to start poking about the USB power settings and find one that solves the problem or even if you don't please post it in the forum for others to know what has and has not worked

That does sound like a good theory. It's too bad but I'm 100% sure this problem started after upgrading from 8.1 to 10 since I upgraded a while ago and also because I was distracted dealing with other problems that came with upgrading lol. But I'm not sure that my computer sleeping is the cause because it doesn't go to sleep every night and sometimes I'll have EG working just fine one minute and then be unresponsive to keyboard hotkeys the next. Thanks for your reply though, I will keep that solution in mind.
