Quick introduction. I'm very new to EG, and I'm not a programmer (but tech savvy). I'm really impressed and thankful for the awesome work this community has provided.
I've been successful with putting together basic scenarios, and this likely is very simple as well - I just can't figure it out. My setup is as follows: ipad remote > URC MX-1 (sends IR codes from ipad) > MCE IR receiver. All is communicating well. The MCE Remote plugin, as well as PowerDVD, are working well. What I'm attempting to do is make a movie server for ripped DVDs/Blu Rays. I have an icon of the movie on the iPad, you press it and the movie starts. I am currently able to do this by pressing a digit on the MCE remote control. However, I do not know how to input multi-digit numbers as an event. For example, if the number "1" makes the movie Jurassic Park play, and the number "10" makes the movie Willy Wonka play, I can never play Willy Wonka because the moment I hit the "1" on the MCE remote, Jurassic Park begins. So, unless I only want to access 9 movies, I need for event ghost to interpret me pressing "1" then "0" as "10". Here is a screenshot that may help explain:
I was thinking that I could combine two events such as "Mce.Num1+0", but that obviously doesnt work.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Ben

Entering Multi-Digit Numbers
Re: Entering Multi-Digit Numbers
You could use the timer plugin. When you press 1, it starts a timer, if it doesn't get another number within 5 secs, it plays '1', if it gets another you can jump to then tens, twenties, etc. depending on the first numeral. There's a multitap plugin too: http://www.eventghost.org/mediawiki/ind ... e=Multitap
It does seem like a roundabout way to do it though. Why not try something like Kodi where the work is already done for you?

Thank you for the quick response. From your recommendation, it looks like Multitap may be a solution. Unfortunately I've tried it with the examples shown without success. I really wish I was a programmer sometimes! If anyone can provide an example for what I am trying to do (posted above), it would be greatly appreciated.

Take a look at the MyMovies movie database software. It used to work in media center. But I know they were moving the media control portion over to Kodi. I do not know if this has been done yet. I personally only use it for the cataloging and scraping and I Run media portal as the GUI and have it read the nfo files and images You can associate playing software to movie types. And the program has a really nice app for Android for accessing the movie database I would imagine they have something for iPad/phone/pod. MyMovies is the largest database of movie info and data on the internet.
Re: Entering Multi-Digit Numbers
Thanks again for the responses. I used MyMovies years ago as a MCE plug-in, and really liked it. What I am doing now is a bit different. I'm setting up home automation using URC hardware. The URC MRX-1 receives the wireless codes and routes them via IP, RS232, or IR. I've already created a GUI with DVD covers as icons. Just need the ability to press the icon and have the movie start.
If somebody could provide a bit of help with MultiTap it would be greatly appreciated. I've followed the examples but can't get it to work.

Here you go. I've never used the multitap plugin before, it's very cool.
I've attached the EventGhost .xml too.
