I was just wondering how far down the line is learning events?
So that when you add an event in the tree somewhere instead of typing in the name by hand you could just press the button on your remote and it fills it in for you automatically. (basically just pick the next event into the name of the new event)
As far as I remember girder has had this functionality for ages, it's a "Learn" button in that program but for eventghost it'd be perfect if it entered the "learning mode" always when you edit an eventname in the tree.
So.. How about it?

Re: Learning events
To do it this way wouldn't be very hard, but I find it not to be the best solution. For example it would be hard to get every event from the Task plugin this way, because you often don't need the first event that arrives, but the second or third. Some remotes also generate alternating events, so it would also hard to get them this way. The drag&drop from the log is at least as handy.
What will come some day is a "add event" dialog that looks similar to the "add plugin" and "add action" dialog to choose hard coded events (like System.Suspend and remotes with human readable events like the X10s). It may also get an option to add user defined mappings for cryptic hexadecimal events to other names or to map them together (for toggling remotes) and modify some settings on them (like button release timeout).
