I've been using a simple macro of emulated keystrokes to change displays. It's basically just {WIN+P}, followed by a short wait, and then {Up/Down}, {Enter}, {Esc}. This has worked fine for a long time, until now (possibly until my latest windows 10 update). When Up/Down is emulated, it just highlights the current display option, rather than actually moving to the next one like a regular keystroke would. Extra presses don't help, and I've messed about a bit with the trigger modes in the emulated keystroke settings without any success. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this?

You can try DisplaySwitch.exe and command line arguments (use: "System/Start Application" Action)...

Thanks! This is obviously a better solution for switching between only two monitors, so I'll be using it from now on. Curiously though, doing this via a Windows command task with "displayswitch /external" did not work. It only brought up the display switching pane, just like Win+P would, even though typing the exact same thing into the terminal switches displays properly. However, executing a batch file with the same command works, as does executing C:\Windows\System32\DisplaySwitch.exe with the command line option /external (like you said).
My problem is solved now, but does anyone know why the command line task does not yield the same result as the manual terminal command? Or why the keystroke emulation doesn't equate to pressed keys? I'm curious

EventGhost needs admin rights probably, see: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8254#p41324
