Open Program After Another Closes

Post by Son23 »

Hey all!

I'm trying to figure out how to close a program when I open another and vice versa. I can't seem to find an answer online or figure it out.

I'm quite new to this, but I've built a PC to basically be a gaming console. Since I can't seem to find any good alternatives, I'm looking to make Steam Big Picture a shell over my windows, but I am also utilizing other programs as steam shortcuts like retroarch, battle.net, eventually netflix, etc. However, let's say I want steam to close when I open retroarch, but also want steam to open again once I close retroarch. I haven't quite figured out how to make that work, and I really can't seem to find anything online about making this work. I rarely use windows for anything, really, and if I need to I have explorer as a shortcut in steam.

Any help/advice would be much appreciated!

the process watcher plugin will let you know what processes get created and terminated. it will trigger an event when you close or open programs. couple that with the Find Window action followed by the Close action this will allow you to close a window if another one opens.

the terms open and close mean when you run a new program and end the program. not maximize and minimize
