Hi There,
I'm trying to use Event Ghost with my microsoft MCE remote. I've tried both the official and the replacement drivers, but no matter what I do, I can't get Event Ghost to register key presses and show them in the log. As far as I can tell, i should be doing the following:
1) load Event Ghost.
2) Load MCE plugin.
Button presses on the remote should then come up in the log?
Please let me know if I'm doing something wrong!! I'm tearing my hair out.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Event Ghost not registering mce remote button presses
I also use MCE remote with eventghost - worked for me right away
1) I'm running MCE 2005 and I run the replacement drivers - BUT - Make sure that the MCE remote works - quickest way is fire up windows media player and try play pause (with the standard drivers of course) AND eventghost NOT running
2) Start eventghost and add the MCE plugin to the autostart - this way whenever eventghost starts MCE will start
- try pressing any key - you should see the key presses (I even tried other remotes and most of them that are true IR types would register something in eventghost)
3) Load the replacement drivers - as per instructions on the web site
So in summary my experience MCE 2005 (although I have XP on other PCs) + make sure it works plain

Re: Event Ghost not registering mce remote button presses
Hi, and thanks for the reply.
I know that the remote and receiver work (it works fine with the original drivers). If I load eventghost up and add the mce plugin, then try the remote, all that happens is the remote buttons perform their action (eg if I press up, the highlighted event/plugin in the list on the right changes, or volume goes up or down etc). There is no event recorded in the left hand panel.
There's obviously something wrong with the installation. I'll try reinstalling it.
Thanks for your help though.
Anyone else with any ideas?
