Event Ghost: 0.3.6.1242
Windows XP SP2
I am trying to use EventGhost to learn the IR codes for a receiver that I have, Sony STR-555ES.
There is a "standby" button that is on the remote control and is setup to sends a on/off toggle code to turn on/off the receiver. However, the remote control can also be configured such that the standby button sends a series of codes to turn off all the devices it controls. When it does that, the standby button doesn't behave in a on/off toggle mode. It is used to send a series of Sony "Off" codes.
What I want to do is to capture the series of "OFF" codes that get fired off. The off code that I am most interested in is the turn off the receiver code. I have having the hardest time getting the USB-UIRT to capture these codes. I see it fired off and it looks like only the last code is captured. And that captured code isn't the one used to turn off the receiver.
The reason why I want to all off codes is because there isn't a way for me to know if the receiver is on or not (without opening the entertainment cabinet). I want it to be turned off completely and not have it toggle on/off.
Anyone have any suggestions on learning the receiver OFF IR code.
Thanks

have you searched for Pronto codes? You can directly paste them in the USB-UIRT Transmit action.
