I want to upgrade my home theater pc to windows vista. Now i┬┤m using a winlirc receiver. But i was not able to find a solution how to get a winlirc receiver to work under vista. So i decided to buy a new IR receiver.
So, here is my question: Does the Igorplug USB work on Vista with Eventghost?
Thanks,
Peter
I┬┤m using no universal remote. It┬┤s a IR remote that was included with the case I bought for my HTPC. The advance of this remote is, I can turn on the PC with the remote.
Does anyone know another USB IR receiver that works good with Eventghost and can be integrated into a case (should be small)?
The USB-UIRT is smaller than the MCE receiver. But nearly all receivers have a housing and you need to fiddle a bit or even use a soldering iron to integrate them nicely. The MCE receiver can receive some more than the default MCE codes (RC6). For example it is also suitable for RC5, Sony, NEC codes and more will be supported in the future. But not as many different codes as the USB-UIRT can handle. On the other hand the USB-UIRT might be overkill for this purpose.
