No, the plugin get the dll from the installation path of the ir remote software. I think the plugin has found the dll, otherwise another error message appears.aName wrote:Do I need to copy irremote into a eventghost directory.

Re: Hauppauge IR
I have moved the tv-card to a different PC and installed the software from the PC and I have the same problem.
So it must be the tv-card causing the problem.
When I start IR.EXE I get the following message "Found IR controller (e2)".

Re: Hauppauge IR
I can get it to work if I execute the HauppaugeIR for the second time.
But how can I get Event Ghost to do that automatically.

Hi,
what do yo mean? Do you have enabled the plugin twice?
Is the message "Found IR controller (e2)" an error message of the ir.exe?
Regards
Stefan

Re: Hauppauge IR
Hi Stefan,
I don't know if it is an error message but I find it a bit strange to get this message. I hoped you would know what it means.
When I start EventGhost it will start HauppaugeIR and I will receive the error message's. When I right click on it afterwards and select the option execute it works. I found this by accident a real programmer's solution. ( eg if it doesn't work we will try it over and over again
)
It means that I will always need to execute the HauppaugeIR plugin manually.

Re: Hauppauge IR
Hi Michel,
sorry I have seen that I'm using a newer version of the plugin. In this version I have set the timeout to 15s (instead of 5s). I think I had a similar problem, otherwise I haven't increase the timeout.
Could you try the new version?
Regards
Stefan

Re: Hauppauge IR
Hi,
Just wondering if it is possible to use a different remote than the one that comes with the card, I mean, use the card's receiver, but another remote and then configure EventGhost to handle the events.
Thanks,
Fran

Re: Hauppauge IR
Hi,
You could try it. If the IR-Receiver is detecting the IR-Signals, but the remote control is unknown, the event string will contain the code of the key.

Prinz
I'm not sure, it can be working.franjorge wrote:Just wondering if it is possible to use a different remote than the one that comes with the card, I mean, use the card's receiver, but another remote and then configure EventGhost to handle the events.

It does not seem to work. I have been reading a bit about IR remotes and it seems that Hauppauge IR receivers can only process signals from RC5 remotes. Sadly enough, it looks that none of the remotes at home uses RC5
Thanks again for the reply.
Re: Hauppauge IR
Hi,
that's right, the IR receiver of the Hauppauge TV cards does only support RC5 remote controls.

Re: Hauppauge IR
hi all,
I've installed Eventghost latest version and I'm working with Hauppauge PVR 150 remote control.
I've also downloaded the iiremote.dll from this forum.
I don't use the load ir at startup.
Don't know why, each time I add the Hauppauge plugin I receive this error message:
"Couldn't start the Hauppauge remote control"
Don't know what to do.
Can someone help?
Thanks
Ilan.
