Hey there,
i'm doing my first steps with EG and have a little Problem. I want to use the XBOX360 Controller with EG. The Controller ist HID and works with the HID Plugin. But ive got a Problem. If i use the 4Axis Digital "Stick" of the Controller i receive events like HID.event.15 1,HID.event.15 2,HID.event.15 3,HID.event.15 4... but if i drag one of these Events to a action it shows HID.event 15 (without 1,2,3 or 4).
And now, if i press the stick in one direction the action occurs... but EG makes no difference between up,down, left, right (1,2,3,4).... it just ignores this detail... I also tried RAW Mode of the HID Plugin, but this doesnt work too.
Can anyone give me a little help with this?
Thanks!!!

I see. These values from 1-4 are the so called "payloads" of the event. You should discuss this in the HID plugin thread, so Bartman can decide if they should be added to the event string or not.
But before this you might want to try the Joystick plugin, as it should also work for HID Joysticks.

Hi,
Thanks for the suggestion (i try your above one and decide if i post in hid)!
I tried the Joystick Plugin and was a little confused, it doest recognize the xbox360 controller.
But they are visible in windows settings dialog for game controllers (dont know how they are
named in english version of windows...).

I have some HID-Joysticks here and they work with the Joystick plugin. So this XBOX controller seems to be very odd.

Re: Using the XBOX360 Controller and EG
Can be, but it is the way m$ does it
I think this behaviour is because the controllers are normally designed for the xbox360
and attached to the pc using a special wireless receiver. But of course, it is very curious... games
(and mediaportal for instance) are detecting the controllers as game controller and it is listed (as sayd)
in windows settings dialog for game controllers. How does the joystick plugin access/enumerates the controllers??
Maybe there are more than one way to do this...?

Honestly you can Google it. However, I believe the same tool that connects PS3 controllers to PC (DS3 Tool) also works with 360 controllers, as there is a 360 option. So look for DS3 Tool.
