can't save configuration

Hi,
I can't save my configuration. I can install a plugin, this will be remembered. But when i activate or deactivate something and try to save, I always get the messages

-Error while saving file
-Traceback (most recent call last) (908):
-File "C:\Program Files\Tools\EventGhost\eg\Document.py", line 147, in Save
-WindowsError: [Error 17] a file cannot be created when it exist (or so)

I have deinstalled Eventghost, cleared the registry, choose another installationfolder, choose a copy of example.xml, nothing helped.

HI again,

I forgot to tell you, I'm using vista. By writing this, I remember problems with other programs and I install Eventghost not in c:\programs and it works.
But I can't save anyway!
Perhaps I understand something wrong. In Content folder I want to deactivate Keyboard Emulation. But after saving and restart it's activated again.

Oh, you have very very old version.

Please try the latest *_Setup.exe from here:

thank you for your fast response. Now I have installed the newest version EventGhost_0.3.6.1486, but my problem is still the same.

What is the folder of the config file?

Hi,

do mean the folder, where the xml-file like example.xml exists? This is the eventghost installfolder.

Bad idea because programs can't write in the program files folder.

Are you sure?
"C:\Program Files\Tools\EventGhost\eg\Document.py" sound like it is located in the program files folder.
Akthough there should be a proper error message if saving fails.

sorry. You are right! But me too

After your info about a newer version, I changed the install location back to the windows program folder and it doesn't work. Now I switch back to c:\tools\eventghost. Inside EventGhost I deactivated the "Keyboard emulation", I saved my configuration under c:\tools\eventghost\myexample.xml, I started EventGhost again, I SEE at the top in the program window, that myexample.xml ist used, but "Keyboard emulation" is activated again.
But: when I install another plugin like dvbviewer,this is saved. Funny,isn't it.

This is the result of the "enable exclusive" action in the autostart macro.
