Disable Power-Button on MCE Remote

Hi,

i am new to EventGhost. I am using it to control my XBMC on my home pc via a MCE Remote. When I click on the PC Power Button then Windows automatically goes into Standby mode. This happens with or without EventGhost. Do I have a option to override this behavior? I would like to disable the Power-Button.

Also another question: How can I use the green Start button to start XBMC?

For the first part - you'll have to find out what is handling your remote when EventGhost is not running. There must be some other software that is handling the power button. It will have to be disabled there.

The short answer to your second question is to define an action that starts XBMC and then assign the green button to it. There is an XBMC plugin for EventGhost -- if it doesn't come with EG, it's out on the net somewhere. This is a good starting point for getting XBMC working with EG.

You might try stopping the HID service, then see if it still goes into standby. If it doesn't then just use EventGhost to reconfigure the remote's commands. If it does you are probably hosed and should consider another remote.

In the power options you can configure the behavior of power and standby buttons. Maybe this helps.
