Gyration remote, Vista MCE and IR blasting ?

Post by timdf »

Hi guys after much googling of the web and various forums (including this one) it seems I need EventGhost and possibly IR Server Suite to solve a little problem I'm having....

I'm trying to remap the volume controls on my MCE Gyration remote to only control the volume control on my Polk home theater amplifier. (I use SPDIF with 5.1 which is fixed level)

The Gyration remote uses RF and the Polk needs to be 'blasted' with IR. I know the commands for the Polk and have tested them on IRSS using an eHome IR Tx/RX.

I've also run up EventGhost but haven't got too far - I've got the MCE and HID plug-ins installed, but the HID plug-in doesn't start up - but does show a bunch of Gyration HID instances.

I think I've got all the right 'pieces' just can't figure out how to hook them all up :-)

Any suggestions ?

Thanks Tim

PS Intelliremote doesn't support my eHome IR blaster so is currently out of the running. I'm running Windows 7 and Media Centre and have the latest version of EventGhost and IRSS installed.
