This is intended. Do you get a red icon as long as you press the button?

Excellent work!

Also, I have been paying around with some of the source code in EG (mainly plugins) but i have to close and restart EG to get it to recompile the python source, how can I achieve this without exiting EG? Is there a reinitialize command or hotkey? <crosses fingers>

hoo-ah!

You can't. Doesn't EG restart fast on your machine? (Sometimes it shows the behaviour that it needs a pair of seconds to close, but then there is an error.)

Can you give some examples of captured IR data from the Tira Girder plugin?
I don't know if they use Pronto CCF there or their proprietary format.

Writing a learn routine might be hard, but to send codes captured with Girder might be easy.

yup, i'll give you a screen shot and you can pick the stuff you want me to send you... hmmm how do I post an image?

I believe it's proprietary but you can use the CCF format (via the parse CCF button?), but I have never tried...

I don't need screenshots (this forum has no function for it anyhow). I only need some strings. I expect, the plugin has a textbox anywhere, that shows the captured data. Or is it not possible to get these into the clipboard?

hmm yes,

A screen shot would show you there are many text boxes and many dropdowns etc...

but try this

Thats a volume Up button from a Sony RM-857 remote

I see. This is their proprietary format and how it is arranged makes it very unhandy to copy&paste.

What are the options under the drop-down list with the "Normal Mode" entry?

wait wait...

i just pulled some sony ccf codes off http://www.remotecentral.com for my tv and ....

Image

All commands look the same ie they all have the '>' in that text box, the only diff is that the bottom boxes change values and also the KHz entry sometimes goes down to 17Khz.

Not sure if this will help but gml (girder) file that the home-electro ccf import utility created from the ccf is here http://images.wolf359.cjb.net

Ok, this looks like we have to go the hard way and write a complete IR-learn routine.
But now it's time to drink some beers and enjoy the sunset here in germany. I will make some more test-code tomorrow.
