EG 3.7 doesn't received ir codes correctly.
I just updated from 3.6.1486 to 3.7 and now my codes from my USBUIRT are all logging differently. They used to say like "USB_UIRT.860i546e342" now they say "USB_UIRT.NEC.0E71C836" and several of them are saying "USB_UIRT.Unknown.10FF3FE8FF3FC"
I've got over 40 pages programed into this remote controlling an unbelievable amount of stuff on this computer. Reassigning all the ir codes would be a huge task. Is there a way to change how it logs the ir codes?
Until I received a response I'm going back to 1486 again.
My comp;
XP X64 with SP1
AMD Phenom 9950 black edition 2.6g quad core
4g ram

Hi
3.7 changes:
-jinxdone
3.7 changes:
Those ".NEC.", ".Unknown." strings are hardcoded in the internal workings of the new IrDecode, so you should change your configuration to be compatible with the new format. Probably the easiest way is to open the config file with a decent text editor and do a search & replace on event names replacing them with new ones. The IR decoder code is completely rewritten. Currently the IgorPlugUSB, TechnoTrend, UIRT and USB-UIRT plugins are using it. One feature is its ability to decode RC5 and MCE-RC6 commands to human readable events (like Play, Stop and so one). The downside is, that you might need to re-assign some events to you macros, as some signals are decoded to other strings.

Re: EG 3.7 doesn't received ir codes correctly.
I have a similar problem. First time I updated EG to the new 3.7 system, the IR/remote (USB_Uirt/Harmony 885) gave me proper names like USB_UIRT.Mce.Up, but that doesn't work anymore.
The IR/Remote just gives me a bunch of USB_UIRT.Unknown.<somenumber>. That would have been OK if it was only a few strings on each button (like it was before, 2 signals on each button), but now it produces a LOT of different signals on each button, making it impossible to assign them to macros.
Strange, wonder why it worked at the start but not now.

Do you have anything changed physically? e.g. a Lamp oder reflecting surface in the room?Dal wrote:I have a similar problem. First time I updated EG to the new 3.7 system, the IR/remote (USB_Uirt/Harmony 885) gave me proper names like USB_UIRT.Mce.Up, but that doesn't work anymore.

Re: EG 3.7 doesn't received ir codes correctly.
Everything is exactly the same.
Going to install 3.6 now just to see if anything has happened to the IR or the remote.

Re: EG 3.7 doesn't received ir codes correctly.
Ouch, same probleme there. The remote just produces a bunch of codes for each button.
Problem goes deeper then. Must try a rerun with the Harmony software.

Re: EG 3.7 doesn't received ir codes correctly.
Erm, now I am embarrassed, there actually was something in the way for the IR.Bartman wrote:Do you have anything changed physically? e.g. a Lamp oder reflecting surface in the room?
But it is much more sensitive in 3.7. Even when sitting 0.5m from the IR, I get errors just by pointing the remote slightly away from the IR.
When using v3.6 it works perfect no matter where i point the remote.
So staying with v3.6 for now.
Thank you, and keep up the good work. I just love this program!

Hello.
A grat Thanks to the developers of EG!!!!!!!! Thats what i am seraching for (Ill hate this Soundgraph remote!).
I have installed the newest 3.7 Version and also have problem that the XBMC plugin (from the forum) doesnt work (not all buttons are working). Should i go back to 3.6? Which build are recomended for:
*XP SP3
*USBUIRT
*Harmony 885 programmed as MCE remote
*XBMC 8.1 Atlantis
*XBMC Config from here: http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtop ... c635#p6641 or should ill use the XBMC Plugin from here: http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1005???
In the log there are also alot of: USB_UIRT.Unknown.<somenumber> entrys.
I figured out that my plasma tv does this, if i turn it off there are no unknown log entrys.
Thanks

Re: EG 3.7 doesn't received ir codes correctly.
Upgraded to EG version 0.3.7.r918 now.
The unknow codes are better, now it seems to be only 3 codes per remote control button, that is possible to live with.
Still not 100% though.
Thanks, and keep up the good work.

Re: EG 3.7 doesn't received ir codes correctly.
In v.0.3.7 r973 all codes seem to be correct! Haven't seen one unknown code yet
It also seem to be only one code per button now, not 2 as it always was in pre-0.3.7 versions, so it's even better.
Excellent work!
Thank you.

Re: EG 3.7 doesn't received ir codes correctly.
Hello. I have tried the newest Build and it works very good. It knows all the MCE Commands over USBUIRT
I Had to reassign all the command, because in the 0.3.6 version the commands was named different.
But know after the work all works flawlessly
Thanks you and keep up the good work.

Re: EG 3.7 doesn't received ir codes correctly.
Sometimes Eventghost shows messages like "USBUIRT.Unknown.XX" (XX Stands for an number) in the log.
What could this be?
Thanks you

I notice this happens often when the machine comes out of standby. XP Home, EG r973 or r985. I'm using the Hauppauge 45 button remote and the USB-UIRT.
