Hi All,
I just discovered Eventghost and am trying to use it (like I've read many others do,) for starting XBMC with a simple button push on my MCE remote. I installed Eventghost just like the WIKI and documentation said, but I cannot get Eventghost to see any button pushes on my MCE remote. Here's my system info:
- Dell Optiplex 755
- 2GB RAM
- Windows XP SP3
- Eventghost 0.3.7 r965
- MS MCE remote model 1039 (RC6 ir)
The MCE receiver is connected to a USB hub that is connected into one of the rear ports on my PC. The latest XBMC works just fine with teh remote natively, so I know the remote works. Can anyone offer some suggestions to help me out???
Thank You
PAsqual

Hi,
First make sure that you've added the Microsoft MCE remote plugin in your tree configuration:

Sheugel, I realize I never stated that I had the MCE remote plugin installed already. My mistake. Someone in the XBMC forums suggested that EG is not receiving MCE input due to another application that is running and taking control of the MCE remote hardware. The problem is I don't have anything else loaded that I know of that could be doing this. Is there an error log for EG that could help here?
Thanks

I'm clueless. I hope someone else can help you. One thing though, check that the "Log only assigned and activated events" box in the bottom left corner is unticked.

@ pasqualz
Is EG running under an account with administrator privileges?

Have you tried it without USB hub?
