JRMC plugin module (v 0.7, 7/4/09)
JRMC plugin module (v 0.7, 7/4/09)
[update - 7/4/09] Updated to version 0.7. Improvements to COM interfaces, fixed bug with VolUp/VolDown. Also a fix for multizone handling.
[update - 6/9/09] Updated to version 0.5, which updates the list of actions available.
[update - 6/8/09] This time I REALLY uploaded version 0.4.
[update - 6/8/09] Updated to version 0.4. This version should work with (at least) versions 12 and 13 of JRMC, and not require different plugins for each version. I also changed how Automation was initialized, which may (or may not) fix the problems that Livin was having with the plugin.
[update - 6/6/09] Added version 0.3, which includes some JRMC Automation support. Download is at the bottom of this post (just unzip into your EG plugins folder), see this post for details.
I'm not sure why, but there is no "New Post" button in the Plugin Support area. That's why I'm posting to the General Support area.
Attached is a plugin for controlling J River Media Center from EventGhost. Very simple, I just put the commands from the J River forums into a plugin - they are mostly hotkeys with a few messages. If anyone finds any problems, please let me know.
There are two versions, one for JRMC 12 and one for JRMC 13. The only real difference is the string used for the WindowMatch function.
Enjoy,
Brett

You are, as well as I, not trusted (yet) as plugi n developers. There are obviously special access permissions needed to make new contributions to the communityI'm not sure why, but there is no "New Post" button in the Plugin Support area. That's why I'm posting to the General Support area.

I was the same way but just pinged BitMonster and he added me to the list of plugin developers so I could post in the Plugin's section.krambriw wrote:You are, as well as I, not trusted (yet) as plugi n developers. Re: JRMC plugin module
Brett,
nice job!
Can you add Zone selection to the plugin? I only use JRMC to power my 2nd & 3rd zone... I use XBMC when in my Media Room (Zone 1).

Re: JRMC plugin module
thank you for your effort... this plugin rocks and has been needed for a while!
Re: JRMC plugin module
Thank you too for this Plugin
It was the final reason to switch from grider to Eventghost
But to get the creme de la creme out of my remote; is it possible to trigger a specific playlist, so that i can press "1" on my remote and JRiver loads a specific playlist?

Re: JRMC plugin module
The part about this that is tricky (for me) is the UI as I'm not used to wxWidgets. I don't see a problem getting the list of available playlists from JRMC, nor starting a particular playlist (although I'll have to figure out how to handle zones). It's putting that info into the UI so the user can select it that I'm not used to.theforce wrote:But to get the creme de la creme out of my remote; is it possible to trigger a specific playlist, so that i can press "1" on my remote and JRiver loads a specific playlist?
Also, if you use the numeric keys for playlists, what would you use for zones?

you could assign F keys to playlists

Re: JRMC plugin module
JRMC plugin v 0.3 released! (Only JRMC 13 - anybody using JRMC 12?)
Ok, I've added preliminary support for more JRMC features through their Automation interface. This new version has three new functions:

Ok, I've added preliminary support for more JRMC features through their Automation interface. This new version has three new functions:
- SetActiveZone - In the configuration you select which zone you want to make active (you probably want one of these for each zone, with different keypresses to trigger each switch).
- SetPlaylist - The configuration allows you to select one of your playlists. When the action is triggered, now playing is cleared and replaced by the selected playlist.
- SyncZones - You select the source and destination zones in the configuration. When the action is triggered, the destination is set to play what the source zone is playing.
See 1st post for the new version download.

Re: JRMC plugin module
when I replace the previous JRMC13 EG crashes and hangs when you try to exit (the later most likely being an EG bug).
I tested by putting back the old code - which fixed it. Also tested with last build, and newest build. Same result.

Re: JRMC plugin module
Wow, I don't even see JRMC starting. Is that the log from start up?
I'm not using the most recent version, but I get completely different messages:
---> Welcome to EventGhost <---
Autostart
Plugin: Zoom Player
Plugin: Task Create/Switch Events
Enable exclusive: Keyboard Emulation
Plugin: USB-UIRT
C:\Documents and Settings\Office08\My Documents\EventGhost\autoconfig\EventGhost\plugins\USB-UIRT\keymap.txt
Plugin: J River Media Center 13
Are there more messages?
Thanks,
Brett

Re: JRMC plugin module
I tried your xml file, and tried the newest version of EG. I can't reproduce your errors. Are you sure the problems aren't related to the other problems you are having (I saw you posed a few bug reports)?
EG stores a config.py and pluginManager file in a different directory to maintain state/configuration even if a new version is loaded. In XP they are in C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Application Data\EventGhost, which is a hidden directory. I forget where the directory is in Vista. Maybe try moving that directory to a new location? It will create a clean config, and try installing/configuring the plugins again? You should then be able to copy MyConfig.xml back over to get your macros back.
I know its a pain, but I'm not sure what else to suggest.

Re: JRMC plugin module
the issue is not the config info in the profile.
I now tested...
a) disabling the old plugin before copying over the new one... same crash/hang
b) removing all traces of the old plugin, shutting down, restarting and then adding new plugin = new errors
