I'm new to EventGhost and I'm in the process of setting everything up. I have a USB-UIRT and I have EventGhost read the ir commands from a remote I have and send keyboard commands to BeyondTV. I would like to setup the volume buttons to receive then send the command to my receiver. When I set it up I have the following in my macro:
USB_UIRT.NEC.0E71F806 (The Remote Event)
USB-UIRT Transmit (The Receiver Volume Control)
Autorepeat current macro.
When I press the colume button once the colume goes up or down one level. When I hold the button it does not change at all. The EventGhost icon is red during the button being pressed. The light on the USB-UIRT is flashing also. When I'm holding the remote button down there are other events showing in the log. They are below:
USB_UIRT.Unknown.10
USB_UIRT.Unknown.40
When these fire the macro stops. I check the "Pass short repeat codes..." in the USB-UIRT plugin and it does not make a difference. I have seen the previous codes show up on another remote during a key press.
Does anyone know if the USB-UIRT sends and transmits at the same time. If not, can I buy a external emitter and have it send and transmit at the same time. How does everyone else solve this problem. Genreic remote and send commands to a receiver?
My EventGhost and computer spec are below:
EventGhotst 0.3.7.r1066
Windows Vista SP1
Core 2 Duo E7200
4GB Memory

AutoRepeat checks if the remote is sending the same command. If the remote sends something else, you'll get strange results.
It sounds like the particular remote you are using sends an initial key, but if the key is held, it sends alternating 10/40 codes after the first code. To know for sure, turn off autorepeat and hold down the key. What events are registered?
You could also try testing a different brand of remote.
