Hey all... First off, LOVE the program...
It is the ONLY one I have found that will let me use my Firefly remote as it should have been.
Using the latest driver from X10.com (the ACPI Compliant one) I can now wake my HTPC up
from suspend (S3) without issue.. Wahoo!!!
I installed the driver, then did the process outlined in the X10 wiki page (delete the X10 USB Hid device)
and did not install the driver on that page. Just used what was left from the new driver install
(only the ACPI Compliant driver) otherwise I got the "double press" effect.
Then I setup eventghost with Mousemode and mutlitap and the MCE commands associated to the
proper Firefly remote buttons. As Emril Lagassi says.... BAMMM!!
I'm as happy as a clam... Except one thing...
I added in a section to call a Batch Command program using Multitap that would allow me to
setup a pseudo sleep timer. The arguments for running the sleeptimer.bat file were the same
{eg.event.payload} used to call the OSD showing the selected # of minutes.
The Batch file then sets a delay based on that time selected and issues a command line sleep message.
Here is a snippet of the config:
Now here is my question...
When Media Center is running, the OSD screen is not shown.
Is there a simple way to add this in??
I have zero knowledge of Python, so be gentle if that is the solution.
I want the Mousemode setup I have also to show the EG OSD screen I created for that one
to show also (just says Mouse On or Mouse Off).
Thanks for any help...

OSD help in VMC/7MC
Re: OSD help in VMC/7MC
I recall seeing some posts that the OSD plugin has some cases where it doesn't work correctly, but that a fix requires a significant code change. I don't think it's high on Bitmonster's todo list....

Re: OSD help in VMC/7MC
It shows correctly on my screen, the issue is it does not show at all when Media Center is running.
I have to go into windowed mode before it will show it.

Re: OSD help in VMC/7MC
Right, so doesn't that imply that Media Center running fullscreen is one of the cases where EG's OSD doesn't work properly?n3m3515 wrote:It shows correctly on my screen, the issue is it does not show at all when Media Center is running.
I'm not sure how Media Center works, but I know several other programs go into a mode when they use the fullscreen that only allows that app to output to the screen. That allows the OS to ignore other requests for output and it doesn't have to composite data from all of the applications. The savings in processing are used to improve the performance of some games and player software (I know at least TheaterTek and ZoomPlayer allow you to use this mode).
Again, I'm not sure the situation for Media Center, but I think that is what is happening. Even if EG's OSD can be "fixed" to work in this mode, I don't think it is a priority. I haven't been following the OSD threads, so maybe something is out there that I'm not aware of....

Re: OSD help in VMC/7MC
I can confirm that the OSD does not work with Media Center in fullscreen - but neither does any other OSD that I've ever seen or tried. It most certainly set itself in a fullscreen screen DirectX mode with no overlay allowed.
The mode it uses also doesn't honor or track "hot plugging" monitors. For example, I have 2 monitors, and one of them is a projector that remains off unless we're in "big screen" mode. When I turn on the projector, it won't get a clone of the screen unless I alt-tab out of 7MC fullscreen for a second and then toggle back.
Back to the original point, check out VMC Controller with the "msgboxrich" mods. It might get you at least some of the functionality you're looking for and definitely works on fullscreen mode 7MC.
